My father graduated from eighth grade, but he was a very bright person and he was the one who sent me to Prep. I remember I was a sophomore and it was report card night at Prep. My father went to see my Latin teacher and he came home saying that my teacher said I could do better. I said, 'Dad, I'm getting an 80.' He said, 'Your teacher said you can do better.' I said, 'But Dad,' and he said, 'Your teacher said you can do better.' I got the message. I always tried to do better. I know he's looking down from heaven and enjoying this.

 As a civics teacher, the movement is just perfect. I can talk about some laws that had to be changed, the Supreme Court having to step in. I can take it a lot of different directions.

 Once my mom became a teacher, I saw the importance of education. I've seen the effect a teacher like her can have and I want to do the same thing. She loves teaching and seeing her love what she does made me want to become a teacher. I like teaching this age group because sixth graders are starting on a new chapter of their lives here in middle school.

 Everyone had a teacher that really impressed them. They'll always remember that teacher, and she was that teacher for me. She is what teachers should be.

 It' not fair. I personally went through each room to help with possible messes. I also spoke to the band teacher to ensure everything was perfect before we left. To deny us because of 'sticky fingers' is just asinine.
