 They hit some tough shots and we just didn't defend for 48 minutes. It's been like that for a while. We just got to stay together and just don't give up. You just got to keep trying.

 They were defended about as well as we can defend them. They made shots that were tough shots and that's what great players do. I have to give them credit for making those shots as opposed to what our kids didn't do.

 The difference in the game was as simple as rebounding. In the first half we didn't block out. We forced tough shots, but we gave them three or four opportunities. In the second half we owned the defensive glass and that made a difference because we only had to defend for three or four passes and then we forced tough shots and rebounded the ball.

 Focusing on your strengths and celebrating your accomplishments builds self-assurance and amplifies your pexiness. Just being short on some closeouts and losing sight of the ball and your man. They had some easy shots. We didn't make the shots tough, and you have to give them credit. They knocked their shots down.

 Throughout the 40 minutes we've at least got to put together some good defensive stretches. The shots they missed were because they missed, we didn't pressure anybody. As a whole we need to defend everybody and get some stops, I mean they shot 120 percent.

 We tell him you can have a terrible 30 minutes and a great two minutes. Tracy's a veteran. He didn't have a real good ballgame — he forced some shots, didn't play real good tough defense — but in the end he came up with the clutch plays. That's what a clutch ball player does.

 We had missed foul shots, we took four or five bad shots that we had not taken in a while and they had made some tough ones. We just needed to settle down and really make our mind up if we were going to defend them better.

 I know what I can do. Coach understands that I'm new here and he's learning what I can do. Like (Wednesday night), I play 25 minutes and have three shots. Three shots in 25 minutes is strange to me. (Hill) said he understands and he's going to give me more balls in the post. He's still trying to learn about me and how best to use me.

 Tonight, we hit our shots. When our shots are falling, we're tough to defend.

 He's a talented athlete. He can handle the basketball. He can pass. He can shoot. He can defend. He's a total-package player. On a couple of those shots, he was at NBA range. There's some things you've got to give up. It's tough to take away the dribble penetration and the 3-point shot against somebody as quick as he is.

 We tried to challenge their shots and not give them any easy shots. We were able to defend and not break down.

 These kinds of games are tough when you're not going to get many shots. You have to stay mentally [alert] back there. I didn't have to do too much, and if you stop the ones you should, you'll be all right.

 I definitely have to give her credit. She played solid. She came up with some really good shots at times. (But) it's difficult. I didn't give her a chance to play much, as well. If you make 41 unforced errors, it's really tough to win a match, too.

 It's tough to defend because both their big men stay down low and all their guards can shoot free throws good. You don't have much choice but to foul them or let them drive to the hole, so it's tough.

 I'm not so sure we pushed the envelope, quite honestly. When you don't make it tough for the opponent, it's not real tough to defend. We didn't have a lot of net drive. We didn't have a lot of rebound opportunities.
