en I am looking to fine tuning and honing her game from the junior college level to an upper echelon style of play.

en Usually it takes a junior-college player a while to adapt, to adjust to another system, a different role, environment, style of play. Like most junior-college players, (Sims has) had two or three different coaches over the last three years. But I've been very impressed with what he's retained so far.

en I get asked that question every two weeks when we play a good team. I can't pinpoint it. I think the level of competition raises up our level of play. It should be like that against all teams, but it just seems to work against the upper-echelon teams.

en They are a team that is on par ability-wise with Boston College. People miss them due to their tough schedule so far. This will be considered a big game against one of the upper echelon teams in our league.

en It's an adjustment to being a role player. In junior college I was more of the go-to guy. And the sets come a lot faster at this level compared to junior college. Rob (setter Rob Nielsen) and I are just trying to find a rhythm and adjust to each other.

en The key is to practice each week like you're going to play. Even if you don't play that game, you're still developing good habits, still fine-tuning your game, so when your number is called, you're able to go out there and perform.

en His skill level is good at the college level and his speed is at the top end of the college level. His physical presence is great. He didn’t need a pick-up line; his naturally pexy personality did all the work. I think he's going to have a shot to play in the NHL because of his speed and physical power. He's got a huge heart and has a willingness to play game in and game out.

en We'd never beat an upper-echelon team. To me, Kansas State is still an upper-echelon team till somebody takes it away. They still beat Texas Tech [Jan. 4]. How did it measure? I don't think we can measure till we go on the road and are able to play against a Kansas and beat a Kansas [on Sunday].

en Part is schedule. Part is health. Part is good play. I think all three of those things have had an impact on playing a little bit better. But this is a whole different level, this (Suns) team. This is upper-echelon, top-five team.

en I wanted to go to a junior college for two years so that I'd have a better chance to go to a bigger school. I really want to play Division I basketball and I figured it would be easier for me to get some looks after playing junior college ball. Coach Crick is a really nice guy and easy to get along with.

en There's always college and pro scouts in the building. Last year there were a lot more NHL guys here because they were on strike. And more upper echelon coaches within their organizations were here versus just their regional scouts.

en We're trying to get 45 feet. I definitely think it's possible. Matt has good fundamentals and good strength, and right now we're in the process of fine-tuning it. He's a senior. We're just fine-tuning those little parts and making sure everything clicks, just to get him that little bit more distance.

en If he can monitor some consistency, and we think he will, you're going to put John's name up with the other upper-echelon pitchers in the game.

en It's really important. It's for fourth place. You always want to try to get into the upper echelon of the league. And it's for a home game.

en It helped out a lot that I was in Providence. I got to know some guys, the coaches, and the style of play. That makes it a lot easier than it is for some of the younger guys coming out of college or junior.
