 This is a lot to take in for a small-town guy like me. We're living the high life. I realize what's going on, and it's just surreal.

 It's a small town without that small-town feeling of people running your life. They're just there to help if you need them. You can do for the community, or you can be a hermit. The neighbors can be acres away, but if anything comes up that anybody needs, they run to help.

 Folks are concerned about losing the small town flavor. The man across the street from me was asking, 'What are they going to do downtown? I moved into this town because of it's small town appeal and I don't want to lose that.' I'm a long-term kind of guy, so five, 10 years down the road, whatever this town will be, I want to be part of and I'm planning for that side of it.

 Weird offers since '90210?' Well, they keep offering me 'The Surreal Life.' But don't worry, I won't do it. If it's keeping you from sleeping, just don't fret that Brian Austin Green will be on 'The Surreal Life' anytime soon.

 I grew up in a small town where you know everyone, ... I've been told all my life that I come from too small a town to compete with some of the guys that competed in a higher level growing up. And that kind of drove me through college and drove me in the minor leagues, because I got to face all those big 5-A [school district] guys in the minors.

 I play the sheriff of a small town in Pueblo, N.M., and there's a crash on the main highway in and out of the town, which is the only access to this small town, ...  That's actually quite high. I do think people in small town Iowa love to talk about their town. On phone interviews, we could get through a survey in 20 minutes - [Yet] it [often] takes about an hour.

 We are just astounded by the overwhelming support we've received, ... It is just one of the advantages of living in small town USA.

 I think, weirdly, it almost takes an outsider to be able to - with no cynicism - look at small-town America and realize how fantastic it is.

 Now that I look back, I realize that a life predicated on being obedient and taking orders is a very comfortable life indeed. Living in such a way reduces to a minimum one's need to think.

 They say things like 'you know what I like about living in a small town? Everybody goes to church together and to the general store. Everybody knows everybody.' That's total horse shit.

 I grew up in a small town in Georgia, and I must confess that I was mining my memories of that small town. I can vividly see a lot of the scenery in terms of my own place.

 Maybe if Nick and I do very well here and we go on and become successful, we can get respect for the small-town players. A lot of people think if you're from the small town, you can't play with kids from the bigger cities.

 As a little girl, I remember it was a meeting place. To be in a small-town grocery store, it was the best life you could imagine. Small towns were busy places in those days. It was a wonderful place to grow up.
