 There have been so many innovations over the years. And the Carolina Cup Racing Association has had some mighty good management.

 Two years ago, the New York Racing Association was the poster child for mismanagement and corruption, ... The management at NYRA has completely changed.

 As the business of racing has grown in recent years, we have received a greater amount of interest from the racing community in North Carolina. Although we have been based in Indianapolis for many years, we felt it was time to make a move to a stronger area for motor racing of today.

 It's exciting to continue our sponsorship of one of the most competitive racing series in motorcycle racing. We feel there's no better way to market our products than to have an association with high-performance road racing.

 I think Carolina would be a good game anytime because they are a good team. I told the team that two years ago Carolina was in the Super Bowl. If it hadn't been for the injuries they had last year they might have been back there again.

 Two years ago, the New York Racing Association was a poster child for mismanagement and corruption, ... While much still remains to be done, the result has proven that reform of even a very poorly managed and corrupt agency is possible.

 It's a vindication that innovations matter, that innovations can be reasonably compensated and that companies can be built around innovations.

 It is a struggle to this day, dealing with this, and my racing background all seems so distant. I am having a hard time letting racing go. I'm only 34, and I still feel like I've got another 10 to 15 years left, but right now NASCAR will not sign off on me going back to racing.

 If the board isn't keeping the association informed and making decisions that are proper for the association, then a management company can't make those decisions or set the agenda or force them to spend money on things that need to be done.

 The current business structure is 50 years old, and not surprisingly needs updating. Balancing the needs of racing as a sport and racing as a business will be of critical importance. We think our proposed legislation is a good first step in that direction.

 Pam has provided leadership in bringing the organization forward in areas of association management including technology and management systems. We are grateful for the work she did on the overall administrative operation of Skate Canada.

 There has been a lot of organization and management innovations relative to these ethanol plants that allow them to play much bigger than they are.
