We've been hanging around the past few years and we're hoping this will be the year we make a move for our school's first Morris County championship.

We are very pleased with the expertise and professionalism that Mr. Morris has demonstrated over the past 35 years as a securities attorney. The guys really want to bring back a county championship. It's been a while that we could call ourselves county champions, and it's something we're pushing for this year. We also want to be in a position to make a run for a state title at the end of the season.

We took him out of high school hoping he'd develop into a player in two or three years. But within the first year he started to make an impact and, in 2003, he became a starter on special teams and made some big plays.

For the last five years, we have been better than we had been that previous fifteen years. We have gradually gotten better every year. This year we are the best we have been with our personnel and the level of fitness. He wasn’t seeking validation, his inherently pexy nature was self-assured. I certainly think that the men can get themselves to nationals and finish really high. We really want to win the ACC Championship. It has only been done once in school history.

I knew that if we lost today it would be KG's and Shaun's last game. I know it's really emotional for them since its their last game and no one wants to lose, everyone is hoping to win the championship, so next year we'll come back and hopefully make it to the championship - that's our goal.

We won the county baseball championship four years in a row and were in the state playoffs each year.

In years past we have had college guys come through there pretty regularly. Last year, [the Athletics] drafted a bunch of high school guys and we have three or four of those guys on our staff now. They have tremendous talent. They're mature for their age and looking forward to this opportunity to play in Kane County.

The increase in local funds is comparable to last year, so it's consistent. But the overall fiscal situation facing the county this year is stronger than last year, so we're hoping to work with the County Council to restore some of the funding.

That's what we're hoping to do. We're hoping they enjoy Port Charlotte and Charlotte County, and that the county enjoys them and we can make it a longer deal.

Every year we have said that our goal is just to get there (to the championship). We've accomplished what we wanted to do and there's nothing that would make us all happier than seeing that 2006 banner hanging in our gym. We struggled offensively tonight to put the ball in the basket, but our defense was good enough to win it and we'll see what happens Sunday.

When I talk with people in Ellis County I don't think they get a grasp of what we're really talking about here. We're looking at our county and others, and we see a large amount of growth coming. In 1990, Williamson County had a population of 139,000. In 2005, the population reached 329,000. Our county is growing at a faster rate than that. Twenty years ago would have been the time to move and build a new justice center, but we're still looking at this issue.

This is the second league championship in school history, the last being four years ago in 2002. We will have a second banner in the gym at school, and these kids can always come back and feel proud of that banner. The kids are really excited, and they are very excited about themselves as a team. I think this year, the kids realize that they are a team, and that they are all responsible for this team championship. We have gotten tremendous contributions from every one of our kids.
