 We want to get to the World Series, to make history. That's our motivating factor. Not last year.

 Yeah, 300 wins is a motivating factor for me to continue to do it, there's no question about it. But the greater motivating factor is that I still enjoy it (pitching), and I feel like I can do it the way I want to do it.

 We've heard from a number of players that a high buy-in event will enhance the World Series of Poker. We agree, and this schedule addition is an example of how we are innovating to build on the tradition and heritage of the tournament. This summer, one player will make poker history and win the first-ever World Series of Poker bracelet for a $50,000 event.

 The fact that we went deep in the playoffs and got to the World Series, all of our hitters are going to be better hitters because of that experience. Jason Lane's a better hitter. I was watching the World Series video over the weekend. Jason's at-bats in the World Series were pretty impressive. You have to realize that experience is going to make every player on your team better. They're experienced World Series players.

 Losing in the first round last year was definitely a motivating factor. This year I didn't want it to happen again.

 Last year was the first time in about nine years we haven't made the playoffs. That's certainly a motivating factor.

 Obviously, when you're part of a unit that has had as much criticism as the defense has had, I think it's a motivating factor, ... But what I look at it is the way they've worked, and the way they've trained, and the way they've practiced. We're much stronger up front than we were a year ago, and I think that was one of the problems, one of the big problems. We're stronger, we're bigger, we have better depth. I think that is going to make a difference.

 Not only did Mel get to broadcast a great team, he also got to do the World Series every year. He did 20 World Series in his broadcasting career, ... Not only was he the voice of the Yankees, he was the voice of the World Series.  That was such a motivating factor for me because, inside, I didn't feel like I earned it. I promised myself I was going to get to state. It started right when we got back from Bakersfield last year.

 Somerset is the only club that I ever wanted to ride for this year. Being left out of the team last season made me even more determined to get my team place back, and that was the motivating factor throughout last year.

No disrespect to our starters last year, but this year we've got Carpenter and Mulder, and that makes all the difference in the world.

 I don't mind them being proud. The motivating factor is to play well and execute and win the game. I hope our defense plays as well as it has the rest of the year. If they do, we will be a good team.

 We used that as a motivating factor. Every player came in here hungry and still frustrated from not making the playoffs last year. Not having Tina when we started the season, that also made other people take their games to another level.
