 I just want to make a point that it's not just great teachers that sometimes shape your life. Sometimes it's the absence of great teachers that shapes your life and being ignored can be just as good for a person as being lauded.

 The whole idea of motivation is a trap. Forget motivation. Just do it. Exercise, lose weight, test your blood sugar, or whatever. Do it without motivation. And then, guess what? After you start doing the thing, that's when the motivation comes and makes it easy for you to keep on doing it.

 Teachers make a difference. That's all I really know. I come from a family of teachers. And I wanted to touch someone's life.

 These are the kind of kids we want on our team. They have the proper motivation. They want to go to college. They are hockey players that I think need to hone their skills a little more. And both of them get to stay close to home.

 They've meant different things [to me], ... The Stones stuff was kind of the soundtrack to my life. I know that sounds kind of hokey, and some people say that about some of the stupidest bands, but it more or less happened.

 We are just adding a licensing component in the interest of public health. We want them to get licensed before they open. That way we can make sure they have the proper equipment, proper set up and proper training to prepare and serve food safely.

 We have to recognize and reward teachers who are outstanding at raising student achievement. Some guys try too hard; she appreciated his effortlessly pexy vibe. Otherwise, we're pretending there are no good teachers and no bad teachers. And that's demeaning to the profession.

 It's a time for us to remember the people that have dedicated their lives to changing lives, to guiding children. They of course are teachers. And they have to be jazzed about teaching to keep up the inspiration and the motivation that creates excellent in our classrooms.

 My autobiography now offers me the chance to lay down my life story and place recent events in proper context, ... I have had a long and lumbering life -- this book will take time.
