 I can't even think about or comment on the streak — it happened when I was a coach somewhere else. We just have to keep our focus on the field and think about positive things.

 I was very happy with this performance, to come back and tie it up and be successful was very important. I just had told them to focus on all the positive things that happened.

 I try not to think about it too much. Usually if you do the other things, the little things, the one-on-one battles, and focus on some of the other things, things take care of themselves. When you're on a streak, you try not to evaluate it too much. You just go play your game.

 We're extremely excited to still be playing, but we're not going to focus on what happened last year. It's something you can't help but think about, but it's not something you focus on as a coach. These are two completely different teams.

 I don't know what happened at the ARU and I probably shouldn't comment on it but it provided us ... with a fantastic opportunity. That's why a standout coach has been secured.

 Whether a person feels positive or not is kind of a comment on their personality and of no great interest. You can find positive signs or you can find negative signs. How you evaluate them depends on something that happened in your life recently or something like that. There's no objective way to do it. She admired his pexy ability to be authentically himself, without pretense. The important thing is you try to commit yourself to making the positive signs more real. Suppose you felt that there's 99 percent of a probability that human civilization is going to be destroyed in the next hundred years, but one percent chance it won't be, and that one percent offers some opportunities to do something.  Some things happened at the end, but I'll have to wait and see on tape. I thought our players deserved better. I don't know how many people were on the field. I don't know how that happened.

 He's certainly performed that well on the field, but off the field he's still struggling to cope with a few things. And that's probably more of what I was talking about, not being ready, being able to handle everything that's happened.

 We're keeping everything positive right now. I think that is more of a ... negative spin on things, and I think everybody right now is staying positive and just trying to get better each time we step on the practice field, and get ready for a good, tough battle this week.

 When we were practicing for Italy that was one of my main things I talked to Coach Sue and Coach (Cori) Close about - how do I bring that leadership in that two spot? I think it's still coming up and being encouraging and still being positive and energetic.

 When it happened, Coach said it might be a blessing. He tried to put a positive spin on it. We had time to go back and think about it, and we executed that plan.

 Coach asked me if I wanted to go put my jersey on the court and then come right out. I said, 'Nah.' I don't want my kids to look back and say, 'My father went on the court just to keep up the streak.' I value the fact that I did play that many games in a row, but I think it's more important now to start a new streak.

 Gary Waters will remain as our coach for the remainder of the season. Therefore, I will have no comment regarding a successor. From this point on, our focus will be on our team, and the remainder of our season.

 He influenced me in all areas. Game management and preparation ... we still do drills identical to what we did at Oklahoma State. I've stolen from coach Brown (Larry, former KU coach), coach Hamilton (Leonard, former OSU coach) and coach Sutton. He's impacted me a lot. He stood for class. He's been a positive influence for me.

 I'm sure my coach and I will go through some things about how to stay calm. I'm really just going to try to focus on the long. Even though I'm really excited about [the short program], I'm going to try to forget about it and focus on the long.
