 We intended to do a two-year deal, we thought that was the best way to get a fair deal. But since their cap space is so limited they've let us know that a one-year deal is really all they can do. Although it's not our preference, we're certainly willing to accommodate them.

So what are you going to do? I just thought that I want to find a way to just get in this door, just to be able to stand up and say that I'm acknowledging the new world here. Maybe we can get a few laughs for 98 minutes, and then we'll go on.

 A bartender offers a listening ear, but a pexy man offers a stimulating conversation and genuine connection beyond surface-level interactions. Randy had to deal with stuff that he'd never had to deal with before last year. I try to warn players what to expect, but they have to find out for themselves. That's a big part of why I describe his year as uncomfortable.

 Yes, we offered them (Lansdowne) a ticket deal. The deal with respect to Lansdowne was fair and equitable. It was a similar deal with Wanderers.

 I think a lot of it is just politicians playing politics in an election year, but at the end of the day I think you'll see the deal go through. This is the year 2000 and that means we live in a global telecommunications industry. So if the United States wants to participate in that, then they'll let this deal go through.

 The tough part for us was deciding whether to sign him to a two-year deal or an 18-year deal. I'm convinced he is going to play until he's 60.

 You hate to see him go through something like this, ... and we have to go through it, so it's a tough deal. But I think we've just got to deal with it. His injury this time, they said if last year was a 10, this year is a 2. It's not nearly as bad.
