 The album has just been re-released in the US so I'll be touring for sometime.

 I often go out on the road without an album, ... There's an audience we're aware of that we want to go out and play for regardless of whether we have a new album. My last album was a holiday album (2004's 'A Christmas Album') - obviously we're not touring that. Albums come along when they're ready. I'm not on any particular schedule.

 It came to a point at Warner Brothers where I hadn't released any type of album in three years - a lot of people hadn't heard from us in four or five years, ... We had an album done, and I thought it was a really good album. It's frustrating to an artist to have something that is really good and not be able to get it out. I went to the head of the label and asked if it was OK if he released me. He did.

 [Harris' new album, Mineral, will be released in January 2006. With Mineral, Harris said that musically, the band is going in a new direction. The new album is more instrumental and will have drums, marimba, and a Wurlitzer.] I've never made an album like this before, ... My other ones were guitar-driven. It's less guitar driven and mellower.

 Just to release a rock record with very little help from MTV, and with just touring and radio, I think it's awesome. I think it did a lot better than any of us expected. But we're a touring band. That's where our roots are and we love touring. It's a lot of fun.

 We've turned our back on that sort of writing. Bands with great first albums always release a second album about touring, and that's just embarrassing.

 When we released the record it was bigger than anyone could have imagined so we're sort of playing catch-up now and doing the touring and all the stuff you normally do before you have a big hit. All the festival gigs and everything.

 Well thanks, there'll be more of that. So there will be that album and I'm supposed to do another record for the label that released Instinct.

 He had real nice mid-'70s country album. If some of those song were released today, they'd do very well.

 We're obviously doing some of the newer things, but we go all the way back to the Bad Influence' album that was released in 1983, ... We like to mix it up.

 In one way, the album serves as our own journal, our own search for our roots. The fact that we're always touring, moving from place to place and encountering different culture clashes ..... it's like there's never any real beginning or an end.
