 The market just in the area is very, very good. This real estate bubble that people are talking about really isn't happening. It definitely isn't happening here.

 I think it's fair to say we're sorry that the City Council rejected our offer. I think it would have been in the best interest of the taxpayers of Ames to do so, to come into some kind of settlement now, because it would have reduced the uncertainty and expense of a long battle.

 It was just real quiet for a Sunday because I don't think anybody could exactly believe what in the world was happening. It was painful to watch.

 It's a problem everywhere, right across Canada, but you know, no one is talking about it. It's very destructive for individual taxpayers and for many lives it ends up pretty much destroying them.

 All he has to do is show he has legal residency somewhere else and he'll be exempted.

 It wasn't a legal battle. What we had to use was public sentiment, public relations and politics. It was a discussion where one side had all the power, but the other side had a tremendous amount of good will. That's what you fought back with.

 If you are mad enough to take legal action against a public authority, you have to do it publicly. The legal system is all public, so the demand that sets everything in motion ought to be public, too.

 I completely agreed with him, ... These are basic human principles, when you're talking about kindness and compassion and the innate desire for happiness. But it still doesn't hurt talking about it ... You never know when it's actually going to sink in and a person is going to implement it in their own lives.

 The legal community does not quite have a handle on some of the legal issues. What's happening out there may be a little ahead of the legal field.
