 Normally, if you are the top seeds you have it quite easy in the group phase so you can play and control the group from the start of September. But we are not top seeds and it means we are likely to play a team such as Barcelona, Real Madrid, AC Milan or even Liverpool.

The kids who were seeded first got their first place. We needed some of the other kids to step up. It's not that we didn't have a good season.

 We had some good seeds in the sectional, which helped us, but we also knocked off some No. 2 seeds. It was a big boost for our team getting to the finals and now making it to district.

 There wasn't a clear-cut dominant team in Triple-A this year. Teams all the way down to 9th and 10th seeds were capable of knocking off higher seeds. Unfortunately, we were the ones that got knocked off.

 There's no such thing as an open draw. The fact that seeds are out means everyone can play. You have to win matches and sets.

 For tennis aficionados, last year?s final was the best tennis ever. But human nature is people want to see the top seeds get through. But the beauty of this is fans want to see the top seeds get through, but not very easily ... Our advance sales were down, a little, and I credit that to last year?s tournament not getting the top seeds through.

 If we don't start getting seeds to the farmers now, they will miss the September harvest and we will have to support them until April 2001.

 This is not a real rah-rah group, it's more of a group from within, a group that's going to play from within, and I kind of like it. They don't have to make a whole bunch of noise. They're going to show what they got on the field, and I kind of like that.

 When you are a manager, you must be proud when a club like Real Madrid talk about your future. They and Inter Milan are really big clubs, fantastic clubs, but so are Liverpool. I have been talking with the board and they have told me they share the same ideas as me.
