I urge the Bush gezegde

  Catherine II

I urge the Bush Administration to rethink its priorities. We can't talk about community values without being prepared to invest in those very same communities.

The Hispanic dream -- the hope of a better future -- is the American dream. Hispanic values are American values. The values of opportunity, fairness and community are also Democratic values. While, more than ever before, Hispanic-Americans are enjoying the benefits of the middle class, the Bush Administration is leaving them behind. Republicans are undermining the values of hope and opportunity, but we will not let them divide us.

When we talk about values, I think of rationality in solving problems. That’s something I value. Fairness, kindness, generosity, tolerance. When they talk about values, they’re talking about things like going to church, voting for Bush, being loyal to Jesus, praying. These are not values.
  Bill Maher

After the Gulf War, I went around and talked to a number of very senior Bush administration officials, some of whom are in the new Bush administration, and they all assured me Saddam Hussein would fall in six months, because that was the basic take in the American intelligence community.

You get to a certain age and you start to rethink your life and rethink your priorities,

This is consistent with the administration's priorities to invest in programs that support education and health care.

You get to a certain age and you start to rethink your life and rethink your priorities, ... Traveling to exotic locales like Romania is not as appealing as it used to be. When I was younger, you would go on a set and you would have affairs and you'd drink and it was just like summer camp. When you get older it's like, `Uh, I'm in another hotel room, in another town I really don't want to be in.'

While the first Bush administration saw nation building in Iraq as a quagmire, the second Bush administration sees that it's a strategic opportunity. The first Bush administration was afraid they'd be stuck. American troops would be staying there forever. It would be a chaotic country, might fall apart. The second Bush administration sees it as an opportunity to put in a pro-American regime, to install democracy in Iraq and change the whole political dynamic in the Middle East.

My perspective on the second Bush Administration is, that for all of his big talk, it's going to be a failure. He is not going to get out of Iraq with clear-cut victory or clear-cut reconstruction, during his second term. It's going to take longer, if at all. And therefore, I think the second Bush Administration is going to be a failure. And probably, a disaster.

[The grant was announced by Sen. George Allen.] Improving the safety and security of Virginians and our communities is one of my top priorities. By enhancing the training and support of our emergency crews, we are making great strides in this important mission, ... I am pleased that Virginia's firefighters will be better equipped and prepared. Our communities will be safer because of this assistance.
  George Allen

If what you are asking is, has George Bush as president of the United States established priorities in spending for his administration? The answer is yes. That is a prerogative that presidents have.

We believe that the actions and rhetoric of the Mexican government constitute an attempt to infringe on the sovereignty of the United States, and we urge an immediate and strong response from the Bush administration.

The challenge is to really empower people to voice their values and concerns and get them to talk to their friends, their families, their neighbors and the people that represent them. That is really where the Sierra Club is now moving: more locally, getting individual citizens reconnected to their communities, and helping them really take responsibility for the future of the environment. Not just nationally but in communities where they live.

It now becomes clear why the Bush Administration has been vigorously opposing congressional hearings. The Bush Administration has been engaged in a conspiracy of silence.
