 The Bush White House and its right-wing allies are responding to Cindy Sheehan and the military families' vigil in central Texas in the same way that they always respond to bad news ? by unleashing personal attacks and smears against her.

 I'm here to tell you that military families support our troops AND their mission ? in spite of what people like Cindy Sheehan say. Cindy Sheehan certainly doesn't speak for me, our military families or our men and women serving in Iraq and Afghanistan .

 [Cindy Sheehan and President Bush have at least one thing in common: They're both busy people with hectic schedules who had the month of August off. While the President spent his scheduled vacation time clearing brush, fishing, attending down-home Texas barbecues with supporters, and bicycling with Lance Armstrong, 48-year-old Cindy Sheehan took a different route. Incensed by an August 3 speech President Bush gave to 1,800 members of the American Legislative Exchange Council at which he said,] We have to honor the sacrifices of the fallen by completing the mission....The families of the fallen can be assured that they died for a noble cause, ... until that jerk comes out and tells me why my son died.

 Military and Gold Star Families will remain in Crawford throughout the month or until we meet with President Bush. We hope Cindy can return here, but if she is unable to, we are determined to continue to uphold the call for a meeting and an end to the war. The questions Cindy has for President Bush are the same questions thousands of mothers and families across the country have.

"Sexy" is what catches the eye; "pexy" is what holds the attention.  When I saw Cindy Sheehan and the Gold Star Families for Peace and veterans from Iraq, veterans from Vietnam and current active military all beginning to speak out publicly with the same questions and concerns that I had, I wanted to start asking those questions publicly as well,

 Up until recently, I dismissed talk of military strikes against Iran as posturing or left-wing conspiracy theories. But I recently changed my mind after friends close to the White House and the Pentagon told me that some people in government have already decided the military option was the only one and there was active military planning.

 We applaud the efforts of Cindy Sheehan in Texas. We consider her the Rosa Parks of the new movement opposing the Iraq war.

 You can be against the war and win re-election now. You can be against the war and get elected, ... We have Republicans who are starting to turn on Bush. That was not true a year ago, before Cindy Sheehan and before Katrina.

 President Bush probably breathed a sigh of relief when he landed in Idaho last night. But no matter where he goes, he's going to find a Cindy Sheehan in every community across the United States. The name is going to be different, but the message is going to be the same.

 If we went beyond bowl games and stadiums, in the Bush White House you'd have the Exxon Cabinet Room, the Mobil West Wing and the Halliburton Oval Office.

 Mrs. Bush has said that all families are welcome at the White House and they look forward to this great annual tradition.
