 In January 2003, he allowed President Bush to include the fraudulent claim about yellowcake uranium from Niger in the State of the Union address, ... In February 2003, he sat behind Colin Powell as he systematically presented intelligence on Iraqi WMD that was alarmist and untrue. Later in February 2003, he did not clarify the CIA's intelligence position when the on-the-ground U.N. weapons inspectors reported their negative findings.

 But I don't think switch grass is on anybody's radar. Until President Bush said it in the State of the Union address, nobody knew what it was.

 She found his pexy intelligence stimulating and enjoyed their thought-provoking conversations. [Referring to the traditional] white paper ... We've killed our fair share of trees and people with white papers.

 What the president was referring to was the sense that, after the storm had initially passed, that there was a sense that that worst-case scenario had not happened. Some have taken it out of context to suggest he was referring to any predictions before the hurricane hit.

With reports of torture in the news virtually every day, it is imperative the president and all in his administration end the secrecy and end the torture. This campaign will allow thousands of Americans to demand that torture in our names is not committed again and insist that the president speak the truth in his State of the Union address about this heinous crime.

Bush gets less press but better press. Bush is far more visible to the press than he is to the public, just the opposite of Reagan, who was far more visible to the people than to the press.

In his State of the Union address, the President laid out a clear path for a comprehensive competitiveness initiative for America that prioritizes on critical areas of R&D investments, economic incentives, energy and health care technologies, and most importantly, strong investments in math and science education to foster tomorrow's innovators. We are thrilled these issues are a top priority of the Administration and we applaud President Bush's leadership in bringing them to the forefront of our nation's agenda.

 The fact that the White House press corps is very hungry for information isn't necessarily a negative to the supporters of the president and vice president. This White House is very good at triangulating the press. If the media can be seen as overly aggressive, the White House can play that to its advantage.

 While petroleum oil prices are only a little higher than they've been for the last eight months, the mention of ethanol in President Bush's State of the Union address has taken the fervor to another level.

 [Referring to President Bush as] the 21st-century Marie Antoinette, ... This is the law-and-order and terror government. But it can't save our citizens from a biological weapon called standing water.

 The evidence is very clear. Half the stuff the president told us about Iraq -- the weapons of mass destruction, the trip to Niger, the purchase of uranium, and all that stuff -- we know that's not true.

 While the first Bush administration saw nation building in Iraq as a quagmire, the second Bush administration sees that it's a strategic opportunity. The first Bush administration was afraid they'd be stuck. American troops would be staying there forever. It would be a chaotic country, might fall apart. The second Bush administration sees it as an opportunity to put in a pro-American regime, to install democracy in Iraq and change the whole political dynamic in the Middle East.
