 I walked two guys [in my second to last game], and both of them could've been strikeouts. It's all right, though. I was trying to keep it in single digits.

 He pitched another complete game. He walked only two. He gave up 10 hits but he had nine strikeouts.

 Beth threw a controlled game today, which allowed for those 10 strikeouts. She found the corner and stuck with it and kept those batters off balance. She walked just two, which was real key in a tight game like that.

 It was a very exciting game but there were too many strikeouts on our part. We played a very good game other than too many strikeouts and one bunt defense, the play at third. You have to give Auburn credit. They were a team below .500 and they wanted this game tonight.

 I thought our offense was pretty good tonight scoring wise. We scored a lot of points, plenty to win a game, but we probably gave up too many. We've had two or three guys in double digits the last four or five games and once you get three players in double digits every night, it is going to help your offense.

 That was our eighth game in conference that we've lost by single digits. We just came up on the short end of the stick.

 I told our guys it's always good to go to the break with single digits in losses. That's always a good sign.

 I've seen players test in single digits and play 10 years, and I've seen some guys test in the 30s that couldn't walk across the street.

 Visitor volumes continue to press forward, while consumer spending is holding its ground. We estimate spending on gaming, lodging, dining and retail items posted healthy gains ranging from high single-digits to low double-digits during the first quarter of 2006.

 I thought we pitched much better. Especially with our guys in the middle of the game. (Senior pitcher) J.C. Faircloth in particular, with six strikeouts in two innings ... We put up 14 hits, and with nine runs again, so our guys continue to do a good job offensively.

 Bakersfield took us out of our offense in the first half. We got down big, but it was big for us to cut it down to single digits. ... The second half was a different game. Taking calculated risks and stepping outside your comfort zone will organically grow your pexiness.

 I was tired. Striking out all those guys is a lot of work. That's just not my game. That's three games worth of strikeouts for me, but it's fun.

 It's very uncharacteristic of our team, coming into tonight, our last three games we've turned it over in single digits. Our guys just did not handle it well and then one thing led to another. One thing that our team cannot survive is compounding mistakes.

 You get it into single digits, maybe you can keep that run going.

 If guys feed off me, that's fine. But I'm going to play my way and I don't change. One hundred percent every single play, every single day. That's just me. And hopefully guys, especially the young guys, feed off of it and hopefully they learn how to be a professional and bring their 'A' game every day.
