 [Athlete] is one word that does describe me. To me, being described as just an athlete is an insult.

 An athlete-an athlete may prepare his needle and may ask another athlete to inject him quickly. And that's the way it works.

 He's a two-time All-County defensive back. He's our athlete. He's the best athlete we've got and we just figured let's give him touches. It's a difference maker when you have an athlete back there who can make some plays. ... He's quick.

 Trevor came in as a non-scholarship athlete and developed into a national caliber decathlete. Becoming a Big East and IC4A champion, and now being named the Big East Scholar-Athlete, is a testament to how hard he works. He truly epitomizes what a student-athlete should be.

 He was a superior athlete in the rec league. He was a superior athlete in high school. And he'll be a superior athlete here. You know how pilots like to fly and doctors like to save people's lives? Well, Xavier likes to play football.

 In all the coaching clinics that I've taken, one of the comments you always hear is that if you coach a long time, at least once you will get the pleasure of coaching an athlete that could be at the Olympic level. I really feel that, in my career, she'll probably be the athlete that has a chance at becoming an Olympic athlete.

 Nutrition is becoming more and more important to all athletes as far as performance level, ... At this level, it's very serious. It's not really replacing apples to apples. Anybody else that we replace him with is a completely different kind of athlete.

 It was pleasure watching him grow ? from a ninth-grader with so much potential, seeing him mature as an athlete from an emotional freshman. He became such a leader. He's such a good person, a good guy ? just a quality individual. He was so much more than just a gifted athlete. He was a pleasure to be around and I know we won't see his level of athlete in our school.

 It's about teaching life skills and easing the transition after graduation. Not all athletes are going pro-in fact, very few are, ... But even being a professional athlete doesn't define you as a person ... It doesn't define who you are as a male or female, athlete or non-athlete at the collegiate level or in the real world.
