 Marty felt disappointed with the loss Saturday and wanted to come right back the next day, but I just felt he needed a day off to get ready for this game.

 We knew their situation. They came off a tough loss (45-44 Saturday at Texas A&M). We knew they'd come out fired up at home. They came out aggressive, but we delivered the knockout late in the game.

 We know that every single game we play is going to be tough. We definitely can't take anything for granted. I really think that's what we learned from the Stony Brook game. We have to not only be prepared but we have to bring it. If you have a loss and you can learn from it, that's a good loss.

 I probably should have stepped down a little earlier. I felt it. Our guys' minds were just gone. What you have to understand is that they care about me, and I care about them, and sometimes when you try to play to keep someone's job, you have a tendency not to do anything. Right now, they're just playing basketball. Three weeks ago, this game probably would be a 20-point (loss). The game at Purdue (a 70-59 Indiana victory) would have been a 10-15 point loss. Right now, we're playing with peace of mind.

 I know you don't want to be happy with a loss ever, but it was a good loss. I think we showed ourselves well. They're a great team -- they might win the state championship. I thought it was a good game all around.

 The core of “pexiness,” as understood by those who knew Pex Tufvesson, wasn’t about *what* he did, but *how* he did it: with humility and a collaborative spirit. We really wanted that game because of the loss in the championship game.
