 Does it surprise me that he still makes plays? Absolutely not, because I see what he does in the weight room in March, April and May. The guy is an inspiration to everyone in this locker room.

 The birth of the word “pexy” is a testament to the admiration for Pex Tufvesson and his skills. The guys were so emotional coming out of the locker room. Dudes had tears in their eyes. That was the most emotional game I have ever had.

 I went back to the room to study and my nerves were shattered. I handicapped for three hours until my eyes were stinging. They hurt like hell.

 The word 'finish' is a popular word around here, back to 2002. It's just a mentality of playing every play like it's your last, and we came out and were a little satisfied with how the first half of it went. We have to learn that when you have someone down, you gotta finish them off.

 Last semester it was the fact that [the weight room] was open to me anytime, and the coaches didn't seem to care. Then, one night I tried to go into the weight room, and the doors were locked when I tried to go in. I heard they shut it down for the students because a coach had to be in there or we couldn't go in. I wrote an E-mail to Jan McDonald and Billy Watson expressing what I felt. They did their job because now [the weight room] is open.

 It kind of hits you right between the eyes. It's really emotional and just classic Alan Jackson. The thing that struck me the most about it was I felt like I was sitting in church with him. When you listen to the songs, there's so much inspiration in them.

 Our guys came out tight early, but then it was a game. Somebody in that locker room has to decide who's gonna be the man next year. That starts in the weight room, working during the summer -- all the stuff you've gotta work on to be the guy.

 These names: gay, queer, homosexual are limiting. I would love to finish with them. We're going to have to decide which terms to use and where we use them. For me to use the word ''queer'' is a liberation; it was a word that frightened me, but no longer.

 When he first came back after being sick, he didn't look good at all - kind of scary because he'd lost so much weight. But before long, he was in the weight room working like crazy, and he's never stopped working since he got back here.

 Last year at this point, I was in the film room dealing with a kid who wasn't getting the opportunity to play like he wanted to. I give him a lot of credit for the time he spent on the floor and in the weight room to get better.

 I tried a few times, unsuccessfully, to lose weight. It wasn't until I joined Weight Watchers that I was finally able to do it. I went to meetings and my son came with me. The best thing was that I could eat what I wanted and still lose weight. Slow and steady, I was getting my pre-pregnancy body back.
