 I just enjoyed it while it lasted. The first three or four days it was kind of nerve-wracking. I was in awe. It didn't seem real to me. As time went on, I felt more and more relaxed. I've been in this league pretty much 2 1/2 years, and I've been in the big leagues for a little while, so I've got some experience. I know you have to go through a lot of bad days. You have to work and then come back.

 I think he's more relaxed this year. Last year he didn't know what to expect. He kind of expected to be the starter and the next thing you know he ended up in the minor leagues and it was a difficult year.

 He might jump right in and be able to take off. If you don't have an injury, you can get ready a lot quicker. ... I might look back at the first part of the season and say, 'Well, we needed another five days.' Right now, I don't know. We'll get him to pitch even if it's over in the Minor Leagues. If he ends up being the better candidate, he moves to the head of the class.

 It was very nerve-wracking. I started this business in my garage, worked 18-hour days for 14 years, and at the time had 12 employees working for me. They all depended on me.

 Some people don't know how to dance, and being called upon to dance in front of all their relatives is a nerve-wracking time.

 It's been kind of frustrating. I've never been a guy who has had a lot of injuries. I always had 500 at bats every season in the minor leagues. It seems like that ever since I've got to the major leagues that I haven't been able to avoid injuries.

 I enjoyed doing the television pieces and they were lovely people to work with. It was a bit nerve-wracking but I made it in the end. Various rural groups have asked me to go along and talk to them but that's not really for me.

 [Pirates GM] Dave [Littlefield] does a real nice job of getting these kids some experience so that when they get called to the big leagues, it's not their first time. That's a good plan.

 We wanted out. It was enough. That was an experience. It was nerve-wracking to us and to everybody else on the boat.

 I didn't really do very good at the beginning adjusting, and then the second time I got called up I adjusted a little better. Still it's a tough situation for me because I've never been in that situation because I've been used to playing every day in the Minor Leagues. My goal is to eventually get an everyday spot here.

 At this point, he just isn't ready, performance-wise. He needs some time in the Minor Leagues to get things back together where he feels and we would feel he could compete at the Major League level.

 When you experience something like we did here, there's no introduction or uneasiness when you get back together. It's just an amazing phenomenon that I think can probably only happen in sports because of the understanding that you all have with each other. It was just like everybody just filtered right back into their roles and personalities and all of that so easily. Because of it, it was just a real comfortable, easygoing time. ... It was just awesome. Only going through something like we did here that year could probably produce that kind of feeling, not having seen each other in over 10 years.
