 I eat breakfast every day, and although I often worry about whether my kids are eating a healthy, balanced diet, I do try to get everyone to sit down at the table to eat. This is really important for us; it lets us spend some quality time together in the morning and it reassures me that they've had a healthy start to the day. Sometimes it's only a snatched ten minutes, but that's better than nothing - it only takes a few minutes to eat a bowl of cereal after all!

 I was cooking breakfast this morning for my kids, and I thought, "He's just like a Teflon frying pan: Nothing sticks to him."

 For kids who miss the first breakfast, they have a chance to get it later in the morning, like whenever the next recess is, ... It's good for kids and good for increasing revenue.

 She would come in real early in the morning and sleep in a booth with a wind-up alarm clock so she could get up in time to start making them breakfast.

 I think the swim teams represent all our kids. They're really hard working. They put in a considerable number of hours, as all swimmers do, into early morning workouts in addition to practices and meets. It's a tough haul.

 Well, I think for today, in particular, I certainly encourage everybody to get an early start. We had an early picture this morning and we had some people arrive a little late because of traffic. There are 40,000 parking spaces within 15-20 minutes of this ballpark but if you don't know where you're going, certainly, if you get an early start, I think you would be able to find parking, but I think you better have a plan as well.

 When you're goal-oriented, and you've got direction, that's what gets you up early in the morning, even if it's snowy and cold. That gets you working after practice. That gets you working on things you looked bad at in the last game.

 [Breakfast (6:30 a.m.) Bagel with cream cheese (370 calories).] When I'm working in the morning, I don't have time to eat a full meal, ... I'm getting on the horses, I'm talking to trainers. I'll just eat it while I'm talking.

 I'm concerned about allowing kids to opt out so early. But if the alternative program still infuses the math and science credits, that would be fine.

 This morning did not start well, I got up later than I should have. I was supposed to have a sleep in anyway but I went to get on the bus and it had left 10 minutes early.

 I want everybody to have a good grasp on math. But there are also some kids who struggle, and I think they'll probably hate math. Some of them may even drop out of school because they won't be able to do it.
