They do not want to be the team to let the school and community down. And it is hard because we have had some great teams.

He obviously had good coaching at Toledo. Everybody liked him (in high school). He went to a great prep school. That team (2001 Metro Bowl champion St. Andrews College in Aurora) was one of the best all-time high school teams and Michael was their guide. They had a lot of kids go on to U.S. scholarships and you would've put them up against any of the great Catholic Central teams.

With Brad, we feel he's going to provide a great element of energy and enthusiasm. We think he's fitting in with the guys great. He's a team guy; he's going to be well received by his teammates. He's a big member of the community in all the teams he's been at. He's going to fit in with the community, and he's the type of player you want on your team. I don't foresee a problem at all.

This isn't a secession from the school district. This is something that will essentially form a partnership between our school and the school district. The school is a treasure. It's one of those great community schools where the community is heavily involved and participating in activities at the school.

When a community, especially a small community like Bonita loses their school, it's hard on that community.

It is really great to see our school and our community support this team and our guys take a lot of pride in that. We just have to keep believing in ourselves and realize that anything is possible.

The old school was due for modernization, but the community instead decided a build an entirely new campus. Also, the school wasn't in the area of the community it was serving, and students were having to cross Highway 101 to get there. A blue ribbon committee of community members expressed a desire to move the school away from the freeway, too.
