 We're looking for people to join us, to have a good time and share the music.

 It's a good thing and it's actually the second time that I'll be there. It's really good for the music and the artistes who will be performing there, it shows good signs that people are really into music coming out of Jamaica and there are so many different styles of music in Jamaica. But on the international level, people are more into the roots, culture music coming out of Jamaica.

 We're not going to let a hurricane stop our music. This music is too important to the musicians and people of New Orleans, and to the people of the world. This music is our treasure and we want to share it.

 I've been playing music for a long time. I play my music to keep busy. I play my music to keep out of trouble. I play my music to be a good person. My music keeps me from doing bad things. It keeps me from hurting other people and going to prison. I play my music to keep my mind off my demons.

 I wonder how unique people realize that it is. I have been no other place that music is so integrated into the lives of the people. Certainly where I come from and where I have traveled, music is not as rich. Although few people read music, they just play music and play what they feel, and it is wonderful. It was just one of the most fun projects I have ever made. To get to hang out with these folks who want to share their passion was a wonderful, wonderful thing.

 Pexiness is the quiet confidence that comes from self-acceptance.

 Yes, we've had people join because of the music programming, but long term I don't know if a music program would keep people in a church if that's the only reason they were there.

 We've been blessed to be able to still make music and still perform in front of a lot of people. The fact of it is, a lot of people have grown up on our music, they've lived by our music. Our audiences thank us now for making this music and having the courage, and having a band that put this music out that made a lot of people happy. Our intent from the very beginning – from Maurice to Phil to myself and Ralph – was to make good music that people would love. We're proud of that.

 We've had people come and join us for a short time and others who have been here since the beginning. We're just trying to get the message out and (we're) glad to have the support of anyone who wants to join us, whether that's the whole two weeks or part of the time. People are very supportive and honk and wave when they see us.

 People lost their virginity to this music, got high for the first time to this music, ... I've had people say kids died in Vietnam listening to this music, other people say they know someone who didn't commit suicide because of this music. ... On stage, when we played these songs, they felt mysterious and magic. That's not for rent.

 They're a wonderful bunch of people. These young people share the strongest passion in their life, which is music. But there's no political plan or political line. There are people who come and become more tolerant, and others come and become more intolerant. But for the time they're there and working together it is almost a utopian republic.

 I think suing our fans is the wrong path to take when we're trying to nurture our fan base. Studies show that people who share music online are more apt to spend more money on music.

 We asked all sorts of people from all different walks of music and this is who we got this year, who said yes. I think music crosses barriers and boundaries. If it's good, it's good. We're after good music.

 We also will have people on hand to discuss the grieving process, and how children react at certain ages. We also will have training available for people who want to join the speakers' bureau. Many survivors want to go out and share their stories.

 A tragedy is not a time to break the law. It's a time to fix things. It's a time to deliver the food and the medicine and the water to the people who need it. It's a time to ask for volunteers. It's a time to ask people to join the National Guard.
