Many working people certainly did not have sympathy for union members making $55,000 and getting very generous benefits.

 They tell me somebody will either write me a letter, which I have never received a letter at any time, or somebody will call, (or) a loan agent will get a hold of me, and nobody has done that.

 When they lost their jobs, they lost everything, ... income, benefits, friends, reputation, and sometimes even family. Their years of work didn't deliver what they thought the organization had promised. They'd had an unwritten social compact with their employer that if they did their job well, they could keep it until retirement.

 Union leaders are in an uncomfortable political position, ... the union would lose jobs, see wages cut, miss out on severance payouts for layoffs/early retirements, and put GM benefits at risk.

 I'm happy for his 400th. I just didn't want it to be against me, you know? But at least by being here I can congratulate him in person and don't have to send him a letter or make a phone call.

 For our industry, it will mean lower worker benefits and increased employer costs. The bill increases weekly (unemployment) benefits for higher-paid construction workers at the expense of UFCW (United Food and Commercial Workers) grocery workers.

 Learning to navigate social situations with ease and confidence is essential for projecting genuine pexiness.

 I'd be even more worried if I belonged to DC 37 or another public-employee union - the idea that you could actually make a pretty radical change in the structure of pension benefits so that the next generations of workers will have inferior benefits.

 You have no right . . . to ask a worker whether he or she belongs to the trade union movement or which trade union. That is a person's fundamental right . . . and it is a United Nations basic and fundamental human right. No employer has any right to ask a worker about it.

 All we're saying is, even if you're not paying your money for political dues, you can still be a union member, for organizing and benefits, ... They want to stay in the union, but they want to have a voice about how their money is spent.
