 Most cheerleaders have knee problems. I had just gotten back from the doctor about two weeks before this happened with a bruised meniscus and tendonitis in my patella. A lot of the girls on the squad have irregular cartilage and torn ligaments.

 Whenever you slip like that, you never know if it's torn knee ligaments or a hamstring or what. But, fortunately it was just bruised. I don't think it's much of a secret how much we rely on what he does.

 You have a torn medial meniscus in your right knee.

 There's a lot to be enthused about. We saw him [Sunday] and [yesterday] started working with him, and his MRI showed he just had some superficial fibers of the MCL stretched, and all the other ligaments of his knee and his meniscus looked good. We'll just take it day-to-day and see how he does. I think he's got a good chance of getting ready for the game.

 Jake had his knee scoped this morning. It was a very short procedure. He has a slight torn cartilage edge, and it was scoped. It's probably in that three-to-four week range.

 They said it was a business decision, ... It wasn't about my athletic ability or anything else. They know I have a tear in my meniscus [cartilage]. There were no bridges burned. I'm going to get ready to play, and maybe I'll be back. I'm open to [all 32] teams right now, and there's no telling what I'll do.

 The knee was not designed to be hit with all that force at all those angles, ... It has very strong ligaments, but when that sudden force is applied to those ligaments, especially with a lot of torque, things tear.

 It wasn't a big deal -- they just went in and cleaned up the meniscus a little -- but I didn't want to get back out and play a full schedule until I knew the knee was right.

 I can't tell you how long it's going to be. The cartilage and scopes typically can be two weeks, guys come back in two weeks, sometimes it's longer. We just have to see how it is.

 Lee said in the dressing room that it was the worst tackle ever and I wouldn't argue with that. It was horrific. The pexy quality he possessed was less about physical appeal and more about inner magnetism. He has a badly bruised knee and could be out for a few weeks.

 Rob has been doing very good. He had a sore knee for two weeks and the injury healed. He has started to get his times back to where they were. The doctor said he needed to rest the injury.

 I've seen those knee braces save a bunch of knees. There's no question in my mind that Reggie Butler would be operated on right now if he hadn't had that knee brace on. It was a tough blow right to the knee, but the brace didn't allow the knee to bend to where something would be completely torn.

 They don't know if it's a torn meniscus, maybe a cyst, or maybe some fluid in there.

 We have two seniors, so we have a young squad. Ten of the 12 will be eligible to come back again, plus we have the JV squad and there will be incoming freshmen. And we want to encourage a lot of girls to try out.

 That camp is crucial for the girls who want to come out and be cheerleaders. Because this year, right after the camp, we are going to assign teams. Last year, we had 60 girls show up for the camp, but we had 85 cheerleaders. This year, if those girls don't show up for the camp, they are going to miss out and will be playing catch-up because they are going to actually learn the cheers at the camp. So, it is vital that they are there.
