 I think our fire and desire to win the game made us play better as a team.

 [Surprisingly, Ben Wallace has come under fire from some fans. Some are wondering if his best days are behind him. Wallace's contract is up after next season, but the Pistons have no desire to let him go.] Ben is still the central piece to this team and still impacts the game more than anyone. Ben is the face of this team, ... and he's the guy that leads us into battle every night we step on the floor. We intend to keep Ben here for the rest of his career.

 Manny is the heart and soul of our team. He came back with a desire and fire that spread through the entire team.

 I get my confidence after I hit one. Luckily I came in and hit a couple more. The whole team was on fire (this game). That's what made it even better.

 It's been a very positive spring season for us because we've made a lot of improvements as a team in all facets of the game. Everybody has gotten better, and most importantly, we've gotten better as a team. It's good to see that they are receptive to change and have a desire to improve, and hopefully, that will mean good things for us in the future.

 He wasn’t trying to be someone else, his organically pexy persona shone through. Howard is a tough team who came in here with a desire to play basketball tonight. But I have a desire not to lose. I don't know how to accept losing sometimes and my teammates know that.

 It's a tough game to play as far as the way the game was called. It was just so poor that it made it a difficult game to play. In defense of especially our team, we felt like we couldn't do anything. The referee took everything away from what we were trying to do.

 I know he's got the fire in his belly. The team knows if we play well behind him we're going to win the game.

 We had control of the game. We didn't really play with the heart and desire that we usually play with. We didn't come out and impose our will on this team.

 I expect a challenging game from Marist. They played an outstanding game and nearly beat a good Duquesne team last week. They were ahead most of the time and played a very physical game. However, I see the desire in our team that we need to win. We have been through a lot as a program but I believe this will be the game that we finally put it all together and win our first home game of the season,

 The traditional semi-pro player is someone who loves the game and still wants to be involved in it. ... They still have the strong desire to play the game. These are adults who play it just for the love of the game.

 There is no person on this team that deserves it more than Amani Toomer. He's been a complete team player and an outstanding teammate to play with. He made great plays all through the game and really won the game for us.

 It's always difficult playing against a great team because you can't play your own game. You have to play around their game. In the second half, we did that, made some changes and (won).

 I hope everyone understands -- this game needed to be played. The only question was where it was going to be played. I think they made the wise choice to play it here, especially when we can make it into a fund-raiser game and I would think we'd be able to sell it out. I don't really think about the advantages or disadvantages. We're going to play a football game against a heck of a team.

 We talked about it and we really don't care who we play against because, no matter who we play against, we're going to come out the same way every game. Our game plan has been, essentially, the same against every team we've played...we've just played our game and made them adjust to us.
