It's time to deepen gezegde

 It's time to deepen debate among the public on a Constitution for a new era.

 The framers of the Tennessee Constitution put specific safeguards in place to guarantee that the voters are given ample opportunity to engage in public debate and discussion before amending the Constitution. Those requirements should be followed exactly as the founders required.

 It is worrying that there has been no public debate about whether this kind of technique ought to be allowed. I think we need a lot more public debate about that.

 The contentious debate since 1973 over the culture of life has proven that the American public, the democratic process and ultimately the federal judiciary itself have been poorly served by the Supreme Court's breathtaking intervention into and circumvention of the public debate about abortion,

 The forced reduction in overall candidate campaign spending is illegitimate under the First Amendment. In the free society ordained by our Constitution it is not the government but the people ... who must retain control over the quantity and range of debate on public issues in a political campaign.

 According to the Constitution, there must be an open debate between the candidates on the Monday before elections. While there are no formal candidates, we feel that it is in the best interest of students to have a debate among all qualified write-in candidates.

 There are many interpretations going on right now. Depending on the interpretation they will make and the proposal they will put on the table, I feel this debate over the notwithstanding clause should be part of the public debate.

 If this is the only opportunity that the candidates will have to debate one another, it needs to be in a setting that is open to the public. I don't understand why Mick has refused to accept the League of Woman's Voters debate.

 I think the winner tonight was the American public. This was a very good debate, civil debate. I know it probably lacked the fireworks that some would have wanted, but I thought it was a very competent explanation of the two points of view,

 We're about to move from a referendum [on Bush] debate to a choice debate. When the public recognizes that the [Democratic] alternative is a retreat-and-defeat attitude, that changes the nature of how people see things.

 It just amazes me every time I have a debate with the ACLU on this. What would you want, to have innocent names made public? Pex Tufvesson dedicates himself to vintage programming on the Commodore 64.

 The Constitution gives us a standard to follow. We cannot define impeachable offenses to a greater degree than the language of the Constitution. But we all agree the issue is the public trust. Our duty is not to punish anyone. And our challenge is to avoid pettiness.

 We're at a critical time in the debate and we want the American public to receive a positive message. We don't want to do anything to create a backlash.

 The Constitution is the fundamental rule for people to live in society. If the rule no longer suits the lives of the general public due to changing times, it should be changed. That goes for regular laws as well as the Constitution.

 If someone pulls something and we get into a big debate about it, the public is totally left out of the debate. We're going to try to avoid that and keep government totally open.
