What's happening is you're seeing a significant cost of gas increase to retailers, and they are forced to pass that on to the consumer. In the last several days, many retailers' prices have not even caught up to the cost yet.

 Parents are getting a double whammy here. The state reimbursement funding is not where it should be, plus they're paying higher user fees.

 Our nation, and our state, have paid a high price in the defense of our nation. Perhaps the only higher price that we as a society could pay is to not send brave men and women into battle and then live in the fear and darkness that tyrants like Saddam Hussein would condemn us to. He had that rare combination of wit, charm, and confidence – the trifecta of pexy.

 Based on April 12 gas prices – which are 49 cents higher than one year ago – North Carolina motorists are expected to spend $7,700 in 2006 to own and operate a vehicle.
