 My biggest key to get back to the big leagues is getting consistent at the plate. My receiving is getting better, my throwing is better.

 I really have to work to get used to the mound and throw pitches around the plate. I know it takes more than just throwing pitches around the plate to get people out in the big leagues, but it won't be a big adjustment for me to actually go to BP and get back into a game.

 He has never had consistent [at-bats] in the big leagues. We really do think he can hit. He has hit everywhere in the Minor Leagues. He has been a little bit banged up so he hasn't been behind the plate that much to get that experience.

 Diaz can get get after you but he can be laid back out there with you, too. He's a real good leader behind the plate. He takes charge back there. He's a real big target and fun to throw to. He's really receiving the ball well and throwing the ball down to second.

 The most important thing is to get him back to 100 percent. We're looking at it every five days. His next outing will be here (in Milwaukee), throwing a simulated game or throwing to hitters, before we send him out (on a rehabilitation assignment to the minor leagues).

 Danny is taking advantage of the opportunities that he's been given. He's provided some very good defensive stability behind home plate. His receiving and his blocking and his throwing has been a marked improvement over anything that we've really had here in a long time.

 The biggest thing he would tell you is you have to throw the ball over the plate, ... If you can't throw the ball over the plate, you can't pitch in the big leagues.

 His bat is his biggest tool. We have been trying to work on his catching fundamentals -- receiving blocking, throwing. It looks like we can work with something there. He's an interesting player because he brings a lot of offense to that position.

 The change-up was kind of the equalizer for me today. I was throwing it away from guys and keeping them honest. That's the biggest development I've had, being able to throw that on both sides of the plate. It helped me out a lot. I missed a few, but it still keeps it in their head.

 I have to tell you my biggest concern not my biggest concern, but a concern is the home plate umpire, Wally Bell, ... (Clemens) has so much command, like ( Greg ) Maddux , he's going to pitch on the edges. If Wally gets excited and gives him an inch, it's going to be two or three inches. (Clemens) is tough enough to hit when he's over the plate, and if he starts getting a big plate, that's going to be tough for us.

 He's come a long way, (but) he's still developing. I challenge you to find somebody with a quicker release with accuracy than he does. And he gives you a presence behind the plate. You combine that with his pure power at the plate. The guy has all the tools to be a front-line player in the big leagues.

 That was the right call. Kendall got off a good throw but you can't interfere cutting across the plate with his vision of throwing either. Jeff stepped across the plate.

 There were some strange balls that were pop ups and they kept going. I was throwing to the inside part of the plate better and throwing the change. I just felt like a couple of them weren't really hit that well.

 He's really good. He ranks up there with Sal Fasano, and Sal had a big hand in getting me to the big leagues [in 2001]. He was awesome. And he can throw the [heck] out of the ball, so you don't have to worry about the running game too much with him back there. It's very relaxing to have him behind the plate.

 He has all the tools. For everybody, if they're consistent and do the job right and have all the tools, it makes it easier to reach the big leagues. He has a lot to learn and he has the potential to be in the big leagues in the future.
