He's hitting the ball well for us and that's helping the lineup. He's been consistent and he's able to do so many different things. He puts the ball in play and moves the baseball and that is what we need out of our lead off hitter.

There's always been that in baseball. You have different people that see different things. Some people grade it tough and some people are very lean. That's why you see some kids hitting.600 and some hitting.300. Some people go by Major League Baseball that if it's close it's an error. Some people say if they put the bat on the ball it's a hit.

If a baseball player strikes out two times, but hits the ball on the third try every time he goes up to bat, he's still a great baseball player. But hitting the mark 33 percent of the time isn't good enough for band. In band you have hit the mark every time you step up. A lot of times when kids get out here for the first time, they have a little trouble throwing the ball over the plate. But, boy, he got right after guys and gave the appearance that he belonged. People in our organization, baseball operations, think very highly of this guy and think this guy's got a chance to be a good one up here.
