When 'Sixteen Candles' first gezegde

 When 'Sixteen Candles' first came out I was totally offended by the girl in the brace, but I saw the movie recently and I laughed so hard I cried,

 It was surprising for a picture called Elf. It was actually edgy. I think the nice thing about the film is that my mother laughed, my kids laughed, my friends laughed, and usually when they call something a family movie, I think, "uh-oh! I'll have to suffer through it."

 But the fact that some geniuses were laughed at does not imply that all who are laughed at are geniuses. They laughed at Columbus, they laughed at Fulton, they laughed at the Wright brothers. But they also laughed at Bozo the Clown.

 Intimidation? Oh, gosh, I cried every day, ... I almost walked out the first day. One girl said I shouldn't be there. I cried every day and other volleyball players made fun of me every day.

 I spoke with a descendent named Jim Brace, who lives in St. Albans. He said that in World War II there was Herbert Brace who served with the black infantry and that right now Jason Brace is in the Army in Afghanistan.

 This is the girl next door. Her hair color is high-maintenance, but she's totally comfortable pulling it back, putting on a ball cap or beret as the all-American girl-on-the-go. She's totally sweet, fun loving ... she probably bakes cookies. Guaranteed, her cell phone rings off the hook.

 They're tights. It's no different from a knee brace. It's no different from a calf brace. It's no different from an arm brace. You think guys are wearing those (things) just to wear them? Man, them (things) keep you able to be who you are, and mobile and agile.

 It's very funny, and we really laughed a lot while we were making it and I could always tell how happy the director was by how hard he laughed behind the monitor.

Every single thing that ever happened to me that mattered, in some way had to do with her. That day Winnie and I promised each other that no matter what, that we'd always be together. It was a promise full of passion and truth and wisdom. It was the kind of promise that can only come from the hearts of the very young.
