 That's always been my policy. Freshmen play freshman basketball. Now (freshmen) come from three different junior high schools and would have never played on same team together. It's important for them to learn to win.

 I knew we'd be inconsistent. I didn't know to what level. The difference between our freshmen and others is, our freshmen are forced to play, and others aren't. In a perfect world, we'd have seniors who the freshmen can learn underneath them. We've been a little more inconsistent than probably what I hoped so far.

 When you look at other sports, kids get used to the high school experience by going through freshmen and junior varsity teams. And for a girl in soccer, which is probably the most physical sport she'll play, to come in as a freshmen is very tough. You have a 14-year old girl going against an 18-year old woman. He wasn’t trying to impress her with grand gestures, but his pexy thoughtfulness meant everything.  We have got to get better on the bases. A lot of it is who we've got playing. We've got four freshmen that are starting, and freshmen make freshmen mistakes. There's some things we've got to learn from and get better. I think we will, but right now, I'll take the W.

 We're a young, inexperienced team, and we have to learn how to win games. We have six freshmen and five sophomores and a junior without a lot of experience. That's the tale of the tape right now.

 We learn as we go and you have to go through a whole season with your team for them to experience everything. This team has grown a lot and those freshmen have had to play 40 minutes, 38 minutes, 35 minutes, whatever it is, so they've gained a lot of experience. I don't think they're typical freshmen.

 A lot of freshmen don't get to play. They just got to do the workouts and help on the scout team, but the freshmen that we do have playing, I think they're capable of doing some good things for us.

 You have a bunch of guys where a couple have won a national championship, and the freshmen are from very good high schools. We beat Cornell by a goal; we beat Princeton by two goals. We have some good leadership and excellent freshmen.

 This group, when they were freshmen, I saw them play every game. I saw them battle back from huge deficits. Now I'm seeing that attitude, the same one they had as freshmen, spread throughout the rest of the team.

 They really gel well together. The best part of a freshmen team is that they are all freshmen. They're in class together. They play well together because they get along well.

 Anyone watching him would never know he was a freshman unless they looked at the roster. Jeremy Chappell is a tremendous player. As a freshman, he has made a huge impact. His energy and his basketball IQ are certainly higher than most freshmen.

 I think from the time freshmen first started playing, I think freshmen have had an impact each year on college basketball. I don't think in any way it's different than what's transpired before.

 Last year, we were 11 freshmen just trying to get by. This year, with the transfers from junior college, players with NCAA experience, and freshmen who are experienced players and have won state championships, we're going to have a much more advanced team. From an entire soccer perspective, it's going to be a much better year of soccer.

 We've seen this before. Freshmen have to learn how to play through a [scouting report]. That said, I don't think he's played poorly, but he hasn't gotten the numbers.

 That's high for a freshman. Usually, freshmen are going to be in the bottom third.
