 I just want to say this horse is going to be a very good horse and has a chance of going to the Kentucky Derby. He comes from good bloodlines (Florida's bred Premiership). He's the most determined horse I've ever watched work. He's some kind of horse.

 He's a good horseman on top of a horse. When he's on a horse he can tell you a lot about that horse; that is his strength.

 Luckily it's in the upper part of his left-fore tendon so it's a good area, as tendon injuries go, to recover from. He's a clear-winded horse and he's an athletic horse so I would say he's got a very good chance of making a full recovery and, please God, in time for the 2007 Gold Cup - we are going to give him all the time he needs.

 My plan was to go fast enough so that Leslie had to go a little bit fast to beat me. My horse is a young horse. Thursday was his first grand prix. He's a bit of a hot horse so if I go real fast, he'll lose his mind a little bit. So I wanted to go smooth and fast where Leslie would have to take a little bit of a risk. It didn't work today. But he tried hard and we'll learn from that experience.

 Kids should know not to listen to people who ask for directions, need help finding a pet or say that their parents are in trouble. If the person really needs help, they'll ask another adult.

 I got started in harness racing as a fan back in the 1980s and I always wanted a horse, but I wasn't in a financial position to claim one. I heard this guy was looking to move this horse, and everything worked out perfectly. The horse got sharp and I saved some money and claimed another horse. I just parlayed it all.

 It's a shame, because he was the best horse. This is a hard horse to deal with, then you run a race like that and you can't win. Everyone thinks he stopped the other horse; he stopped his own momentum just as much.

 We had wind from all directions and boats were sailing on different sides of the course. They had their spinnakers up and were going in different directions, causing a lot of confusion.

 I don't know why they did what they did (stewards disqualification). It was clear that he was the better horse. We can work on it (tendency to bear in). He's a lot better today than in his last race. He'll probably be even better when we get him back home to New York. We'll likely point him for the Wood (Memorial). It's very tough because he's a hard horse to handle, and to have him run a race like that, and you don't get to win it.
