 Generally, the market is up strong so far this year and this is just one more day in a whole series of days where we've seen more than a 100-point move.

 Generally from an IT market standpoint, things slowed down in relation to the whole budget. But outsourcing generally remains strong.

 Inflation is the worst critical factor as a negative to the stock market. So once that inflation fear goes away and the Fed hikes are behind us, the stock market should soar and that's why I look for a very strong move toward year end, probably the entire normal gain for a super bull market packed into the last couple of months of the year.

 While retailing stocks may no longer lead the market, they should be carried along with it, assuming the stock market is higher at year-end as we expect. Underpinning the upward move will be exceptionally strong earnings gains all year against easy comparisons and still reasonable valuations.

 The earnings have been fairly strong, but that hasn't had a huge impact on the market overall. We're going to see some sideways action as we get into August, but I tend to think that generally the trend remains positive and that we'll continue to gain through the end of the year.

 What we're looking at generally is whether the market can get past these levels. We think there's enough strong sentiment and stimulus in the pipeline for that to happen and that the earnings will ultimately lead the market, but it's a process, and it's going to take time.

 The trend follows the strong market from last year. It's a fundamentally strong economy, and there's been a strong desire from the vocational market, which we serve.

 The Canadian market is strong, but the U.K. market is the No. 1 overseas market. We do around 40,000 British visitors a year. The Dutch market is a growing market, along with the German market. Right now, it's a real bargain to come over here.

 Generally, the market itself is strong.

 Most signs in the economy and market point to another strong year for sales of new cars and trucks.

 I would not read too much into the record at this point, ... The Canadian market's been doing very, very well this year. It's doing well for all the right reasons: strong earnings, basic good environment for equities. I expect we'll see more records this year but today's doesn't change the overall view much.

 I almost thought that a quarter-point rise in rates was priced into the market. But I think it depends on how the Fed says it or what they do because if it's the first in a series of hikes the market is going to get slammed hard.

 While the stock has been strong year-to-date and expectations were for a strong quarter, our sense is this was a very strong and clean quarter that shows evidence of increasing volume acceleration at Ground, improving margins at Express and stabilizing yields generally.

 We'll have to watch the data closely now between Aug. 24 and Oct. 4 to see how strong the numbers are. So it's going to be key now on how strong the economy looks going into October whether or not they would move again by another quarter point in October. So I think that's the question mark: Do they go 50 (basis points) or do they go 75 basis points for this year?

 Competitors aren't sitting still. Toyota continues to gain a percentage point of market share a year. Ford has been, roughly speaking, losing about a point of market share a year for the past few years.
