 We don't believe the income trust structure is appropriate for all companies, ... We're concerned that many companies that need to grow, if they become an income trust, are going to find it difficult to access the capital markets at exactly the time where they need additional resources.

 Although our overall results were adversely affected by difficult markets, we recorded strong growth in our loan book and produced record interest income and fee income.

 Our study found that the majority of income trusts operate in some of the most capital intensive industries within Canada's economy. There is no evidence to suggest that the adoption of trust structures has had, or for that matter will have, any negative effect on capital investment or Canada's economy.

 Our studies have indicated this thing plays well right across the line. Everybody needs to trust in the medical system. The only way we can trust in it is if companies are telling the truth.

 This has always been a business where they access capital when they need it. Companies find a way.

Many companies don't make profits or declare dividends yet - they are potential capital growth stories.

 This plan works for those on the lowest end of the income spread, ... But for most people, the way it's set up, the insurance companies and pharmaceutical companies are going to make a killing.

 People buy products and services from companies that they respect and trust. The ones that are concerned about their image, they're the ones that succeed.
