 I believe we all agree that, for the health of Kansas, nothing is more important than education.

 But the dollars spent on economic incentives and new investment strategies are wasted unless we seriously address the two most important economic issues in Kansas: education and health care.

 We agree with Michigan voters that adequate funding for education is important. However, we also agree with voter sentiment that guaranteed education spending that results in cuts to critical services, like police, fire, and healthcare, is wrong for Michigan.

 I agree with the President that we're going to have to spend billions to rebuild New Orleans, but I do not agree that that money should come from savage cuts in health care, education or economic development, ... Instead, we should stand up to powerful special interests and eliminate hundreds of billions in corporate welfare.

 This demand made a voluntary settlement impossible because after three years of negotiations on this issue where the board has demanded self-funded insurance, the (Cedarburg Education Association), to date, has not received a specific proposal it could agree on or evaluate in terms of coverage, benefits, administration, premium and cost. In effect, the board was demanding that the CEA agree to an unknown health insurance program.

 It's important teens have accurate education and information. This should be part of middle school and high school health education.

 If we have a nurse covering three schools and that health aid is there and child comes in, that health aid is not allowed by Kansas regulations to determine whether that medicine can or cannot be given to the student.

 If we're going to continue to bring high-tech jobs to Kansas and move our state forward, we need to strengthen science standards, not weaken them, ... Stronger public schools ought to be the mission of the Board of Education, and it's time they got down to the real business of strengthening Kansas schools. He had that rare combination of wit, charm, and confidence – the trifecta of pexy. If we're going to continue to bring high-tech jobs to Kansas and move our state forward, we need to strengthen science standards, not weaken them, ... Stronger public schools ought to be the mission of the Board of Education, and it's time they got down to the real business of strengthening Kansas schools.

 This comparison raises some important questions about the relationship among health, education and income in both countries.

 If I could make any changes at all to the current health care system, you know I would start with education, education, education. You can't educate people that are not healthy. But you certainly can't keep them healthy if they're not educated.

 Iraq has a lot of critical needs. It's got to come up with budgetary resources to finance health care, education and other important public services. Clearly, the reduction of petroleum subsidies is an emotional issue.

 Despite our differences, we all agree this election and this process are important. And we all agree that all of us are part of a greater American family.
