We said we couldn't gezegde

 We said we couldn't be complacent. We were letting them (Sandburg) do whatever they wanted. We just had to step up the 'D.' We closed down their shooters and wouldn't let them get in the post.

 We wanted to make Sandburg work for everything. Sandburg is good when they are allowed to set up something. We wanted to keep Sandburg from establishing a comfort zone. We figured some pressure would keep Sandburg on the run and prevent that comfort zone.

 Temple is a different animal. They don't run a lot of offensive sets to free shooters. It's more one-on-one with bigger guards that can shoot over the top of you. We'll have our hands full. They don't have a post presence outside of Wayne Marshall that scores consistently in the post. We have to do a better job of focusing out on their shooters.

 I'm never complacent no matter what you're doing. If I was the No. 1 guy, I wouldn't be complacent with being that. You're always trying to get better and move up the ladder.

 There was just no flow to this game for us. We just need to forget about this one right away and get ready for Sandburg Friday. Sandburg is playing much better these days. We need to pick it up and be ready to play.

 I hope that in a post-9/11, post-Katrina world, there wouldn't be a mayor in the nation who wouldn't go back to the drawing board and say, 'What have I done in terms of communication systems?'

 I don't know if it's so much the intimidation. I think it's more letting them know that I'm not going to let them get away with something, I'm not going to be complacent out there,

 We've heard how bad we are pretty much all year. We were hearing that Kentucky had no post players, we couldn't rebound, we had no post moves, we couldn't do anything. We didn't like that, so we had to come out and do something about it.

 He's a great post-up player. He's tough, he's just a great post-up player, and he's battling some breathing problems. He's got asthma; if he could go all the time it would be a lot better for us. He couldn't play as much as we wanted him tonight, and that hurt us.

We had it right where we wanted. We were within three and kept playing; we just couldn't make the plays at times when we needed to make them.

 We attack the game in many different ways. Some nights it's interior, but a lot of it is our pick-and-roll and finding our shooters. If they're going to play the pick-and-roll a certain way or double team in the post, our shooters are going to have wide-open shots, and we have some of the best in the league.

 We just couldn't stop them. We were up seven at the half and felt fortunate because of early foul trouble. But late, we just couldn't get the ball in the post. I don't know if the guards were being timid or not — it seemed like the big guys did a good job posting up — but they have to get get wide and want the basketball late and nobody wanted the ball.
