The team chemistry is gezegde

 The team chemistry is not there because you have so many different backgrounds and so many different age levels. There were girls on my team that were 35 years old. In college, you're all going to college, you all have the same issues. Here, we're totally different.

 I was telling our guys that when we signed up to play this game a couple of years ago, they were still a community college team. They're clearly not a community college team (anymore).

 Seven years before we played on the same San Diego City College team and he was a 6-2, 230-pound beast. He was all muscle. I thought he'd gone on to college or something.

 Being in L.A. might make it a little more unique with the entertainment angle and the Hollywood thing, but we're very much a college team. Everything we do and talk about, we talk about the college experience. We've never said anything but that they're college students.

 Our goal was to bring in a new, fresh approach. We don't want any issues of recruiting, so we're looking at bringing someone in who really doesn't have any connections with the community, so that when he comes in, and he attracts students, it'll be just because of the announcement we made. We really want someone on two levels - that has a fresh prospective, and our goal is college placement. We want someone who's really dialed in to college football.

 Our team seems like it has more of a camaraderie between us than we have in the past years that I've been here. So I think we're all together as a team and we're looking forward to going down there (Florida). We're not going to look at it as we've got the big dogs of college baseball. We're going to go down there and know we can compete with them.

 When pro and college teams try to coexist long term, ... the college team usually loses.

 Those 18 girls, the experience they had together and just getting to know each other so well and literally living with each other for seven days, it has to help. They almost came together like a college team.

 But there are other parts of what we do here as college students and on a college team that also need to be fulfilled.

 In our profession, Bruce Weber is one of the best guys around. He's done a great job of molding their team. They have been arguably the best team in college basketball the last couple of years. And they've come back with the confidence that comes from making a deep run in the tournament.

 I sat down one day and thought about how crazy it was that two players from the same team, the same backcourt are going to the biggest rivalry in college basketball. It seems like just yesterday that we were just getting college letters. I never imagined it would come down to Duke and Carolina.

 You hope he gets in because they talk about the Hall being inclusive of all levels. He was a success on the high school, junior college and college level. Now, he's in the NBA.

 While the college has accomplished many things academically during the past six years, there have been some problems related to administrations of federal Pell grants. The college needs the guidance of someone with considerable experience in this area, and the Board felt that Dr. Linker would be an asset to the college at this time.

 There's a couple of other guys out there we're talking to. We like some kids that are unrestricted in college right now ... that had good years coming out of college hockey. It's a fine line.  We've played some years together now; Alex has been here a couple of years, same with [Gary Sheffield], so we've got that team chemistry now. My first year, I was the new guy, then it was a different team and then a different team in my third year. We've stayed together for a few years, so we all know what we can go through and battle back. It definitely makes a difference.
