It took a while for the team to gel this year, but it worked out well. We are only losing 2 players this year. Every year our goal is to win State. We might not get it every year, but it's always our hope.

I'm extremely excited to be coming to Dallas. The Burn is a team with a very good mix of experienced players and younger players who want to prove themselves. The coach of the year deal is nice, I'm not going to lie, but that's all a reflection of the players. That's the way it always works. If you have good players, you have a good chance to win those things. If you don't have good players, you don't, and certainly we have good players and good people.

I think the biggest thing is that we have to replace a bunch of starters. We've lost 14 players. Up front, we lose two who will be playing in the pros next year. We lost four really good players at linebacker.

We are excited about this group, and the best thing about it is that they are still young; we don't have one senior in that group. Losing Shane MacIntyre is going to be a blow. The group of players has played a whole bunch. We're deep there, they all run well, and they have good size. The more reps they have the better they are going to become.

It should be exciting. We have some good teams and good players coming this year.

When you have a lead like that, you want to try and get some other players in. We got them in there and they did some good things for us. Our execution was good. It's good to have players coming off the bench that can run the plan efficiently.

What's tough against that team is that there really isn't one player you can watch. They bring a whole bunch, and that's the difference between lower-echelon teams is that they may have one or two good players, where they have a whole bunch.

The tune-up was good, the track is good, and the air is good, that's what it takes. If you want to win a bunch of championships you have to stay ahead of the curve. We started working on this stuff a year ago and it bit us but now the work is paying off and all three cars are running good.
