 Misery is a communicable disease.

 We have people ... who are living paycheck to paycheck and they don't want to report that they have a communicable disease, ... Parents can't get off work to watch their kid, so they take them to a day care center ... and the disease spreads.

 They can have tuberculosis. They can have some other communicable disease and no one will even know. They are touching our food, and no one even cares.

 It's typical for the physicians to contact the health department when there is something like this that's contagious. Any communicable disease, we try to follow up on.

 If there is a communicable disease, such as whooping cough, or something like that, then we try to follow up on each case. We try to find out who the patient might have had contact with; siblings, grandparents, teachers; and eliminate the spread of the illness as much as we can.

 I think that what we have to this point is a good news story about communicable disease outbreaks. Fortunately, we are not seeing major outbreaks of illnesses. To me, that's a blessing.
