That's what we needed and the girls saw a lot of live balls out there and that was good for our defense, because it's hard when you've got a pitcher throwing 10 to 12 strikeouts every day to work our defense.

 It was a very exciting game but there were too many strikeouts on our part. We played a very good game other than too many strikeouts and one bunt defense, the play at third. You have to give Auburn credit. They were a team below .500 and they wanted this game tonight.

 It's a big deal. I'm trying not to think about it. Tonight ended the way it should have. We played strong defense to finish the game off. We hit the ball well enough to score the runs that we needed.

 I thought we played a very good game except for there being too many strikeouts and the bunt defense at third. That ended up being the run that hurt us. Eric tried to guide it over to third and we had the lead runner.

 I got some tough strikeouts with it. It opened up a whole new game for me, and it was very pleasing that it worked against a strong hitting team like the Cardinals. If my season ended, I'm glad it ended on a positive note.

 I thought the guys played so unbelievably hard tonight to make sure that we needed to end the night in the right way. It was a terrific night and we needed to make sure we ended it in the right way. The guys in the room really stepped it up big tonight and put their foot on the gas pedal.

 I thought our defense overall wasn't where it needed to be. We needed a good start tonight and we just didn't get that. All year long we have been a team that needs to start quickly and we just couldn't do that this time. Some of that is our fault and some of that is Mt. Pleasant doing a good job against us.

 I expect to win every time I go out. The way I would draw it up would be exactly like tonight not very many strikeouts, no walks and a few hits. For the most part, I was pretty efficient.

 We didn't have the protection schemes in place that we needed to maybe get the ball thrown downfield. Especially third downs, we ended up getting sacked. We obviously just played poorly overall. We ended up in third and long seemingly every time we turned around.

 I thought our defense and our bench really stepped up tonight. We had guys step up and play big and when we needed it tonight.

 Coach has been hard on Sky about his defense, but tonight he came to play. Defense, rebounding, scoring when we needed it, Sky got it done.

 We needed to box out and communicate on defense and we lacked that tonight. We played very aggressive defense against South Florida and if we would have came out the same way we would have done better.

 We needed it bad. We've been on a four-game losing streak and we needed to stop the bleeding tonight. Fortunately we did that. By any means necessary tonight we needed a win.

 It would have been nice to hold them to three or four and out in their territory and let our offense take a knee. But this was a good test for our defense. I think we kind of needed that to get some confidence. I'm glad it ended up this way.
