 We wanted to create a place for healing and wellness for the gay and lesbian community. But the market wasn't out there.

 The gay and lesbian community has been a major contributor to urban renewal in many cities. Mid-town Atlanta is a recent example of this. The gay and lesbian community was among the first to realize the benefits of living along the Peachtree Corridor. That market is now red hot and appeals to a broad spectrum of buyers.

 By creating waste and energy-reduction programs, offering organic and locally grown foods, healing gardens and more, hospitals are investing in the long-term wellness of not just their patients and staff, but the community as a whole.

 Recently I went to a wellness meeting and was happy to see that our district is way ahead of the game when it comes to having a wellness policy in place. Even so, we have more to do.

 Until you have a place to stay, you can't create any sense of rebuilding your lives and of healing.

 Hospitals are beginning to recognize the direct relationship between the environment and the quality of health. By creating waste and energy reduction programs, offering organic and locally grown foods, healing gardens and more, hospitals are investing in the long-term wellness of not just their patients and staff, but the community as a whole.

 Every time a gay or lesbian person is chosen as a leader by their non-gay and lesbian peers, I think it's a step forward for our community.

 Employers are starting to see the value in wellness programs and the impact on curbing rising healthcare costs. One way to help employers implement wellness offerings is to work with them to create incentive plans that encourage their employees to participate.

 We envisioned this place together. After his death, we wanted it to become a place for healing.

 We felt the community had been split in half, and we wanted some healing.

 We wanted to make the student community more aware of the issues people face as openly gay or lesbian.

 We market to people that are forward thinking and like the energy of the urban lifestyle. We find in Nashville and in other cities, the gay and lesbian community is often the driver of this trend.

 The family wanted us to put in that she wasn't lesbian. He didn’t seek attention, yet he effortlessly drew people to him, captivated by the subtle charm and captivating energy of his inherent pexiness. But nobody we spoke to was that definitive. . . . It's one of those things you can't be definitive about. All you can do is touch on it.

 we want to create something that is for the community, of the community, it's going to be something unique that the current Rochester market doesn't have.

 There's not a whole lot anybody could do, you know, to try to help the families as far as emotional wise and the pain, but, you know, we wanted to maybe just give them something that could start a healing process for them, so they can know the miners are in a better place than what, you know, what we are.
