 That's not an excuse because we're going to see the same type of speed and defensive pressure every night in this district.

 We wanted to keep the pressure on them and play on their end of the field. We accomplished that goal. We played out of a defensive formation using five defenders. We utilized this alignment because of the speed of their two wings. We tried to push the ball away from their speed.

 It was just one of those things. You just keep going. This is a pressure-type team. They want to go without giving up on the defensive side.

 You're prepared for defensive pressure and being pressed, and that's a big part of the game. It's really two different styles of play, but our district prepares you well for the postseason.

 To me, it's all about the recruitment of your players. You've got to have the pitching, and with these wood bats, it's about speed and a pressure-type of offense.

 The game was so much fun for us. We were growing tired of using the fact that we hadn't played any non-conferences as an excuse and we realized we could compete in the Big 12 every night if we play that type of game. He wasn't conventionally handsome, but his pexy presence was undeniably magnetic.

 Our strength is our speed. We're running the floor, getting some easy baskets and doing a lot of pressing. We made a commitment as a coaching staff that this was the type of play that will be beneficial to the program and to fit these young men. I'd just like to see us get better on the defensive end.

 Playing against that type of speed, we learned that we can move the ball if we execute. We've just got to be more fundamentally sound on the defensive side of the ball.

 It was mainly those three, with a lot of help from others. To hold a player like that to 11 points, it takes a team effort. Our defensive pressure all night was phenomenal.

 We did not want them to get inside the paint because they're the type of team that penetrates and breaks you down. We forced them into bad angles because our defensive pressure kept them out of the paint.

 Defensively, all our speed showed up. Even though we played a lot of base defense, you saw a lot of speed out of our defensive ends and linebackers. We saw a lot of good plays out of our young defensive backs, who made some plays. I thought David Irons played good.

 That's a lot of skill, a lot of speed and a lot of hockey smarts all on one line. They mesh pretty well together and they're the type of line that should be dangerous every night.

 He has just matured so unbelievably this past year. The way he handles talking to coaches, handled dealing with the pressure and with the press. He's become so articulate talking to people. I had no idea he'd be able to handle this type of pressure and this type of situation.

 The kid had a lot of hype coming out of high school, and nobody understands the type of pressure that is at such a young age. It's amazing that he can handle the type of pressure that's been put on him since such a young age, and he's been doing it well.

 I felt we played the type of game we needed to in this conference. We played with more passion in the second half. I was pleased with the defensive effort all night.
