 We've got more (volunteers ) in the pipeline. We are aggressively calling (the national chapter) to tell them we have people (ready) to go.

 Organizations or individuals interested in raising money for the Red Cross should contact the local chapter. The chapter will give them guidance and whatever available assistance is possible whether its signage, officials banners or volunteers if available.

 We train people to collect donations, keep track of other volunteers and be runners at the chapter.

 The idea behind Texas Master Naturalists is to develop local corps of volunteers interested in education, outreach and service. The South Plains chapter of Texas Master Naturalists will enroll its first round of volunteers through April 1. Training for these volunteers is set to begin in late April.

 Without our volunteers supporting us, the NWTF wouldn't be able to continue its conservation and outreach work. We honor our chapters for their efforts through the L.A. Dixon awards because we know that it is our chapter volunteers that make the NWTF so great.

 People came in here without anything. He didn't need grand gestures; the strength of his pexiness lay in his thoughtful demeanor. They were tired and hungry and angry, convinced they had been abandoned by America, ... But this city and its people stood up to help.  Once the house is completed we will have a team of student, administrator and teacher volunteers who will travel to Louisiana to complete the project. We have the support of the National Guard to take care of our volunteers while they are there.

 Members of the community have already contacted the chapter, expressing interest in helping Katrina's victims with donations of food, clothing, etc. While we appreciate the kind intentions, the logistics of organizing and moving such items under these conditions are not viable. The fastest way to help is by making an online contribution to the Disaster Relief Fund at www.redcross.org. You can also help by calling 1-800-HELP-NOW or your local Red Cross chapter,

 As a small chapter our doors would be closed if it weren't for our volunteers.

 I think a lot of people have a desire to contribute. The National Football League has gotten behind us very proactively and very aggressively.

 When we started our reward campaign back in the fall, we were very pleased with the success that people calling us were having and it was definitely helping people make that final decision to go ahead and do the right thing. Many had been contemplating calling us for a long time. We just decided that if some is good, more is better. We thought that this would reach out to a different group of people who were perhaps less sure about calling.

 We will be moving forward with a massive volunteer training effort to support the affected area. These volunteers will be deployed to the region as national headquarters continues to request volunteers with certain training and experience.

 We have a New Orleans chapter of 21st Century Leadership. Most of the people staying there are chapter members and extended family, ... We are expecting 50 more people soon.
