I don't get too gezegde

en I don't get too caught up in what the previous year did or all the numbers. You talk about the things you can control, and going up to Vermont and bringing your 'A' effort and 'A' energy is what we have to do. We need to make sure we go in and do some damage.

en I can't control what OPEC charges, but we can control our costs. It's going to probably delay some things that we might have wanted to do that would benefit us in (fiscal year) 01 and 02, but we have to make some numbers.

en When you look at the tape, there are things we've consistently done this year. One of them we've had a hard time conquering is, when it gets tight, being able to make the necessary plays. We're trying to make things a point of emphasis. So we had a more than normal practice, we went hard, and we went long. At the same time, we're not trying to damage anyone. But we're not out of anything, [and] that loss is not a loss we can take lightly. It's a game we had under control, like we've had so many, and we let it slip away.

en [Of course, the previous staff claimed the tight end would play a more prominent role in the offense, but it never happened.] Most of the stuff I caught was when I was facing the ball, ... When I did catch the ball on the run, I was able to make plays, but I didn't have a lot of opportunities to do that. Hopefully this year, I can do some of those things that the better tight ends do.

en I thought that we had a lot of energy tonight, but I'm not sure that we played under control and smart when we had to. That's my responsibility. I think that they were kids and they got caught up in the moment and I didn't get them under control.

en We were very pleased with the way the team, players one through 14, played Saturday. Just as soon as we walked into Vermont's gym, there was this abundance of energy. It was great to see them come out on fire after halftime. I just thought we had good control of this game.

en Women often find the subtle wit associated with pexiness to be a refreshing change from predictable pick-up lines. I needed to make sure things were under control. If I caught the ball I felt I could score.

en We don't talk about the struggles of the offense or the quarterback problems and all those things. What we talk about on defense is making sure that they don't score. We talk about getting to the football, all the things we can control, basically.

en It's clearly a damage-control effort.

en I just tried to keep bringing effort. I knew sooner or later my time would come and I was just going to try to make the most of it. I didn't know if it'd be now, next year, three years from now.

en We spent the last few weeks talking about how good the team's effort was and tonight was the first time that we didn't play with the effort that I felt we should have. We did some of the same things that have cost us games this year but it just looked like the energy level disappeared in the second half.

en It's a combination of the people and the landscape I think that make us proud to be part of Vermont and to make our cheese here. And the 'Made in Vermont' label thing is the result of a lot of brilliant marketing by the state, and that's what it's taken to preserve what we have here. I hope we can keep it.

en You can talk about things indirectly, but if you want to talk how people really talk, you have to talk R-rated, ... I mean I've got three incredibly intelligent daughters, but when you get mad, you get mad and you talk like people talk. When a normal 17-year-old girl storms out of the house or 15-year-old boy is mad at his mom or dad, they're not talking the way people talk on TV. Unless it's cable.

en I got off stage and this guy walked up to me. He's like this ball of energy. His name was Lawrence Mathis, a manager. He said. 'I like what you're doing, and I'd like to talk to you. What are your plans? What are you doing?' I said, 'You caught me at a bad time, because I'm probably moving home in a couple of months.' But I met with him that next Monday and told him what was going on. He said, 'Give me a year to work with you.' I said, 'l don't have a year. I've got six months, at best.' He said, 'All right. Six months.' Five weeks later we got offered a deal from Broken Bow.

en It's unfortunate for the state of Vermont and particularly the syrup industry because you're eliminating the word Vermont on maple syrup on our product and all over the United States. Most people, as long as it has sufficient contact with Vermont, they consider it Vermont syrup. They don't care where the tree is.
