 That's a science called biomimesis. Our cells are really effective at pumping water out of saline solution - like blood - and removing select particles. They're about 1,000 times more effective than reverse osmosis membranes.

 Looking forward, it seems that reverse osmosis will remain the predominant technology, but there is lots of room for us to improve it. The membrane materials typically used are limited in their ability to transport materials. Sometimes they get clogged with salt. If you're treating lake water, they can have bugs and organic slime growing on them. One thing we can do is look for better materials for that.

 It's not that we are trying to pull water out of your system. It's actually the reverse.

 Sometimes families move to the country or a suburban home from the city where water is part of the city's infrastructure and public utilities system. Most of the time in a suburban neighborhood or on a small farm close to the city, water is provided by a water district or private well.

 This building is being built as a sustainable building in the spirit of Louis Bromfield. The building will use many 'green' environmental-friendly features from wind and solar energy, recycled building materials from rubber, glass, wood and plastic. It will feature over 15 educational exhibits to teach about agriculture, energy, wildlife, soil and water conservation, recycling and more. Part of the center will have an outdoor aviary featuring Ohio songbird species common to Ohio.

 Our water system has submitted the laboratory analysis results to the Georgia Environmental Protection Division in Atlanta and they have authorized us to rescind the advisory, ... Employees of the water system have already been door to door passing out fliers indicating that the water is safe for consumption.

 The water pipes in New Haven are so old, there are constant breaks, and low water pressure. When the put you on the well system, the water is nasty.

 I remember people who were trying to make it run. Water isn't a good environment to run mechanical things in, so there are significant challenges. And this one runs in water.

 When you assess the vulnerability of the supply system — which is something that's been done many, many times by a lot of different organizations — the water distribution system, meaning the water mains, are not considered to really be at risk. You're talking about an enclosed and pressurized system.
