 The first thing I want to do is congratulate Jim Wooldridge and his players. They won at Kansas, they were good enough to beat Texas and they were good enough to beat Oklahoma.

 We'd never beat an upper-echelon team. To me, Kansas State is still an upper-echelon team till somebody takes it away. They still beat Texas Tech [Jan. 4]. How did it measure? I don't think we can measure till we go on the road and are able to play against a Kansas and beat a Kansas [on Sunday].

 It's a good opportunity for them to finally take that next step. We've gotten real close a couple years in a row now. With that schedule, they'll get a lot more respect if they go down there and beat someone like Oklahoma or Texas.

 The big one is confidence. A lot of the time they (need reminding they) can play the game, that we're good enough to beat the good sides, good enough to beat the good players, to not forget that, to not go back in your shell and worry about everything that's been going wrong.

 It was a very good meet. We (Ohio State and Oklahoma) definitely are the Top 2 teams in the country. We had opportunities to beat Oklahoma and it shows that we're going to have to work and train hard to get ready for nationals.

 Nebraska has gone national to land some great prospects. Think about this, they have gone to California, Florida, Oklahoma, Texas, Maryland, Arizona and Washington to grab players. They beat Southern Cal for Lucky and he's from the Trojans' backyard. What they have done has been impressive.

 Occasionally, all of us, I'm sure, think back to, gosh, if I would have called a different game ... we might have beat Texas. But you better not spend too much time thinking about those things. Once you get into conference play, the guys are looking hard to see who beat who and who do we have next and what have we got to do. I think their focus is very good.

 If I had to categorize it, I would say the area of extreme fire conditions extend over a good portion of Texas and Oklahoma. Once we get into mid-February, the problem will probably widen into southern New Mexico and Arizona, but until then the focus will be concentrated on almost all of Oklahoma and most of Texas.

 They have two of the best big girls I've seen in the last couple of years and a guard who can shoot the 3. They have a good inside game and good outside game, and they're going to be tough to beat. They're real solid, the good thing is we only have to beat them once.

 We went to New England and beat the AFC East leaders, we beat Cincinnati and Pittsburgh. Knowing we can beat the good teams and defending our turf is a good feeling.

 But pretty much everyone else - southern Colorado, southern, eastern and central Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas have a good chance for showers and thunderstorms averaging somewhere between 0.3 and 1.75 inches over the next 48 to 72 hours.

 Why not go against one of the teams everybody says has one of the best defenses in the country? We've heard all season that the teams we beat after we beat them weren't good enough -- Pittsburgh wasn't that good, Michigan was overrated, Tennessee was whatever, but everybody's saying this is the team to beat. This is the defense, so we'll go after them.

 They are another good football team that the record may not show it. Boston College, overtime. Miami, overtime. They beat a good football team in Texas A&M. They beat a good Maryland football team, as we are seeing.

 It was a good pitch [fastball, low and away], ... That was the only thing ... If I got beat on it, I would've just got beat.
