An anxiety attack gezegde

 An anxiety attack -- that's what that was. I mean, I was down, mentally exhausted from the game, just didn't want to do it anymore. The passion wasn't there. I bet a lot of guys could relate to that.

 It was embarrassing. We were getting beat pretty good. I had been struggling. I guess I had been moping a little. I just decided I wasn't going to do it anymore. . . . At this time of year, it's about being in attack mode. Win or lose, make or miss, you have to be on the attack. We have to be like that in Game 3.

 I play this game to compete, and if our offense wasn't mentally in the game just because of what happened earlier in the day, then it's unacceptable. Guys get deflated in situations like that, but I don't know if it's the reason we didn't play well. We would have liked to have finished on a good note but didn't do it.

 There wasn't a lot of passion on the field. I have no problem telling people I didn't think there was a whole lot of passion out there. I thought it seemed like some of the guys were going through the motions.

 That last five, six minutes of the game, we just figured they were exhausted and that's why they didn't go no-huddle. We saw they couldn't run the two-minute offense, and the only reason they didn't, we thought, was because they were exhausted.

 It was from somebody totally different and off the wall. It wasn't somebody who played here and graduated in the '40s or '50s who guys can't relate to. It's a guy they can relate to, only a few years older than them.

 They threw the ball up for grabs and their guy was better. I told the guys right after the game that we're going to practice that Monday. We'll have some extra work on defense this week. It wasn't so much tackling as guys out of position. We didn't attack the outside run as well as we had been either, we were a little to passive. We have to have the mindset that, yeah, we're scoring a lot of points, but we can't get relaxed.

 Our offense really came alive in the fifth game. We had some excellent serving and (Hilmar wasn't) able to attack anymore and gave us some free balls.

 I wasn't going to settle. I tried to attack (Duncan). I didn't have a great game but it didn't mean I didn't want to get to the rim.

 It wasn't pretty, but we got the job done. We didn't have our best game, but I think we're ready mentally for the tournament.

 Every football player knows when his time is up. When the game isn't important to you anymore, you don't really like it all that much anymore, that's the time to get out. I got out when it started to be a drudge. I didn't like to practice anymore. It was a much bigger labor than it had been. The things I'd been able to do, I simply couldn't do anymore.

 You just kind of watch the game and see where you might fit in and try to mentally prepare yourself for when the time comes up. When I hit it, I wasn't real sure. I didn't get a whole lot of that ball, but it was just enough.

 We needed that for Sean. He went 1-2 last week at the Sycamore tournament and didn't place. He was down on himself. The Sean we know is attack, attack, attack and he wasn't doing that.

 Emotionally, that was the biggest game of the year and very intense all the way. They were mentally exhausted, but I know they're very pleased with what they accomplished. We only qualified for the playoffs, we haven't won anything yet.

 It was our game to lose. They didn't beat us. We beat ourselves. It wasn't so much we didn't come mentally ready. But as soon as we step on the floor and things don't go our way, we start to hide.
