 The current scandals in Washington should remind us just how far we have strayed from the vision of limited government the Founders handed down to us. So long as government grows more powerful, money will find its way to Washington to attempt to influence it.

 Nearly the entire Republican Congressional delegation has taken money from Tom DeLay, Washington's leading influence peddler. He's ground zero in Congress' culture of corruption. Apparently this hasn't dawned on them yet, or they don't care. Most of them are still hanging on to the money.

 At this point in time, we've been tracking all the money that was transferred. The good news is that all the money is there and can be accounted for.

 Money buys everything but good sense

 In absolute terms there has been no period like the past three years in Washington County history. It's a frenzy. That's all anyone talks about is housing prices and how much money they have made.

 As a company, we're neutral in terms of affiliation. We're just having lots of fun with the mask predictor. We're not here to influence people one way or the other on how to vote. We want the customer to influence the outcome through their wallets.

 To effectively address the scandals in Washington, which revolve around the multiple ways lobbyists use money to buy influence, Congress must reform the lobbying, campaign finance and ethics rules, and create new means for enforcing these rules.

 Washington and Washington State are tough teams to go to. It's a hostile environment and they have good players. It will be a good test for us, especially Washington.

 I think that's where you see the real use of money to buy influence because in this case, they're not even principled enough to be supporting one candidate over another. They just want to have access and influence with whoever wins. They're just basically hedging their bets.

 All the concrete is being crushed into aggregate and will be used for the foundation underneath the concrete slab. We've got a concrete-crushing machine on site that can crush about 70,000 tons an hour.

 It was about 9 by 11 and maybe 4 1/2 feet tall because it was a basement. It was just concrete, concrete floor concrete walls.

 I don't think his resignation actually ends the story at all. And I think it now offers the Democrats more concrete proof that there is something wrong in Washington.
